The irony is that he left Real Madrid because he was benched. He should have known the situation at Bayern is the same as in Madrid. I'm sure Ancelotti will let him play but he will never be a starter every match, not even close.
But nobody is an every day starter at Bayern. Only Lewandoski, and only that because they've got no other striker. And you're not truly capturing what James went through at Real. He was benched. More than that, he was benched after an incredible first season, benched for players who joined the club far after he did, and benched despite playing pretty damn well in his limited opportunities. Bayern rotates. Everybody knows this, James included.
I have a pretty clear understanding of what happened at Real Madrid, I know his benching wasn't always justified. He just didn't fit Zidanes system so it's still understandable. But I'm not so sure he will fit in Bayerns system neither. If they rotate enough so James plays enough, fine. I'd just like to see him in a team that could give him a key role in the midfield and I don't see that happening at Bayern. He will probably play in different positions during the season just to fit him somewhere. Bayern doesn't really need James. I hope I'm wrong though.
James playing half the minutes he'll play in a second tier team, being happy and rested for the WC: I can live with that.
There it is! James Rodriguez scores his 1st career Bundesliga goal for Bayern👏 https://t.co/qCYw5Dq3Xy— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) September 19, 2017
Playing very well. Sort of started off playing a bit lax which is what I criticized him for earlier this season and then as the game went on really just let himself go and took control of the build up. He's all over the pitch and Shalke just can't mark him.

The whole thing is awesome... The dribble, the pass, the shot... And IIRC, Bayern held possession for like 2 minutes continuously before the goal...

Very good, very important for him to score and becomes the best player of the fixture so fast. The pressure a bit off. Now he needs to get into a non-injury and starting lineup form so he'll build his name there and wins Ancelotti and the fans confidence.
Good for James but bad for Bayern they tied Wolfsburg at home, I think Ancelotti trusts James and it makes sense that he's rotating, I think the team is much better with James starting over Mueller. Problem is Vidal/Tolisso/Thiago are all playing well and in the crunch games its going to be tough to keep one of Vidal/Tolisso/Thiago/James off the field, I think they should drop one of Ribery/Robben for the big games and play James in a more free wide role.
James has had 1 great game. 1. The others were post injury minutes and prep games in summer. Lots of egos to please. He has to let the past fail to some regard so he can make a point in why he was the one that requested James.
The Facebook Live website was working kinda shaky for me. I am streaming it to my Chromecast on tv though and it is looking alright now. (Better than the computer but not as good as other Chromecast streams)
