he needs to do much more, from his 3 goals, 2/3 were tap ins and 1/3 was a PK, which pretty much inflates his numbers.

training with 1st team along with Herrmann who I mentioned in the Butler thread....

also U19 coach mentioned him but no Butler.
fci.de: Before this season you explained that the U19 is always one of the biggest tasks to form a real team. Finally, an older vintage from the previous season, a young vintage and a few newcomers meet. How has that been achieved so far?

Pätzold: "Very good! Of course, it always helps if you have a little success. We have a good mood, but also high discipline and the right focus in training and in the game. I am particularly pleased that we have a lot of guys from the younger year, who are regularly in the starting lineup. In general, we are even a bit better placed in terms of width than last year and can compensate for the numerous failures that we have already suffered, always super. The power density and the competition are great, this is an excellent sign. Certainly there are certain pillars. Our keeper Markus Ponath has already saved a few points, Lukas Schröder is advancing as captain and our offensives like Jalen Hawkins can also make the difference individually. In the end, however, the team knows that it only works together and that each individual makes his contribution at a certain point in time. "

supposed German-American 99-Weiss also played 32 min in the 1-0 win.

01-Hawkins is with the Ingolstadt 1st team in Winter Camp.

At this point it seems like Hawkins and the supposed German-American Weiss (he has a 2022 contract but he's never played for the 1st team in relevant games neither 2BL-3rd Liga nor Cup. Only played in a couple of minor cups) are the only ones close to the 1st team as both continue to make friendlies/camps.

Butler and Jager seem very far away. Seems likely that both of these 2 will be forced to play II before any 1st team. Butler has too much competition at CF. With even a guy 1 year older than him and who is rated by the club overperforming for the II and even then no camp call up simply due to lack of space. While Jager seems to be the 3rd choice GK at Ingolstadt U19, never a good sign.

also on another note that Ingolstadt is 2BL promotion candidate, decent chance to make it. Doesn't leave much time for young players to get experience before they go to higher level. While talking about other youngsters since the team is filled with young players, the coach stated
"It's doable. They have the quality. The others also have potential and can find the connection,"

whether Hawkins makes his 3rd Liga debut or OL debut or both this season, time will tell.

yesterday Ingolstadt played a friendly 6-3 win over Swiss club St Gallen and Hawkins didn't play. That's what happens when you take an almost 30 man squad, even if you play 2 different XI, still leaves out like 6+ players.

the supposed German-American Weiss played the full 2nd half.

Now jump to 3 friendlies played and Hawkins not used as they lost 3-2 to Belgian 1st division club Gent and today beat 2BL Kiel 2-0. They currently have 2 friendlies left before season starts again.

if you believe some sites, he was on the bench for all 3 games too, so unused bench.

would guess it's because he's likely to continue to primarily play in U19 for the rest of the season.

believe he ended up playing like 14ish min in last 1st team friendly.

and he scored his 5th of the season as Ingolstadt U19 drew Frankfurt U19 2-2. Comeback tying goal as they were down 2-0.

scored his 7th goal in a trashing 6-3 loss to Augsburg.

not looking so great for Butler though, other players catching up and got 2 yellow=red to get his team to 9 men. Although Augsburg only scored once vs 10/9 men.

was unused in eventual 0-0 draw.

I think if he wants to be integrated, Ingolstadt getting promotion might not be ideal for him.

Makes his 3rd Liga/pro debut coming on 80th min.

unlike Butler, Hawkins always had a decent shot at 1st team this season.

    so
-supposed German-American 99-Weiss has pro contract at Ingolstadt but has yet to make his debut. Could struggle even more if they get promotion.
-German-American 01-Hawkins signs pro contract and based on it, seems like they want to integrate him.
“We are continuing on our path to continuously establishing our own young players in the professional team. Jalen has excelled as a top performer among the A-Juniors and worked out his chance with the professionals. We hope that he will continue to hang in there and gradually become an integral part. ”

-German-American 01-Butler, even if he trained with 1st team still think he's far more likely to start in II/OL 1st. Even if he makes his 3rd Liga debut this season assuming they get some irrelevant games. He's down the pecking order for CF.

-American 02 GK Jager (although his name is German, lol), seems like 3rd choice GK during season in U19.

Ingolstadt's season finale is Saturday at 8 am eastern. Ingolstadt are currently in fourth, which is good enough for the promotion playoffs this year due to Bayern Munich II's exploits. They are 3 points off of Würzburger Kickers for automatic promotion, though Ingolstadt do have the goal differential advantage. Ingolstadt also have one point leads over MSV Duisburg and Hansa Rostock and a two point lead on their final match day opponent,1860 Munich. The German Federation will stream Ingolstadt's finale on YouTube.

Hawkins was an unused sub as Ingolstadt won 2-0.

Ingolstadt were heading for automatic promotion until Würzburger Kickers converted a penalty in second half stoppage time for a 2-2 draw in their match.

Instead Ingolstadt are heading to the playoff against FC Nürnberg. The away first leg is July 7th.

They have also secured a spot in the 2020-2021 German Cup.
