This is such a great acheivement indeed. TBH, both us and LPB are great clubs and none of us should be so ahead in trophies count in any tournament as it was in Liga before Messi.

However, there is still big gap in CL and i hope this will shrink in my lifetime.

Just hope management doesn't fuk up much after Messi is gone. They need to build on this success. We all think they could have already done better in the past few years.

TBF, I am more pleased with this board now than I was a year ago. They have made some fantastic signings with Mats, Arthur, Dembele, and DeJong. 20/20 is a hindsight, and these signings can go very bad later but with the information available at the time of these signings, the board made very good sporting decisions. As a fan, this is what I ask for and am therefore satisfied.

These 4 players give me hope and I am quite certain 3 of them will be the backbone if this team after Messi’s retirement (I am bit unsure about Dembele). If we get one great striker, we will be sorted. However, it’s easier said than done, as there are not many strikers who looks certain to be one of the best in their position for the next decade as Mats, Arthur and DeJong looks to me.

Let me correct you there as they totally ********ed up 160M€ on Coutinho and passed the chance to sign mbappe just to sign Dembélé for the same sum. Mbappe is already more established than Dembélé who I don't see becoming any heir of Messi even if I really like Dembélé he'll never have ball control and he's a awful passer. Mbappe would have replaced Suarez and his goals. So yeah great with Arthur, Aleña and De Jong but lost a couple of great signings. Let's not even mention likes of Shitmes and how they kicked out Dani Alves. I'd still kick Bartomeu out in a heartbeat. When Messi retires there will be dark ages in Barca unless they have a visionary board and coach. Valverde suits better in Betis or Valencia.

I don't buy that story. The guy said Mbappé was offered to Barca last summer (not in 2017) after being a year at PSG. That's bullshit. Makes zero sense and we couldn't afford him regardless. Mbappé had his heart on Madrid until PSG swooped in.

Hate to break it to you, but there won't be an heir to Messi.

Ya, i agree that it looks like we blew away Neymar money on Coutinho and Dembele. Honestly, i have no faith in Coutinho whatsoever but I am still unsure about Dembele. I mean he is still young and has shown some glimpses at least.

Mbabpe as you named, is not a certanity to be a success in Barca however. Take this season for example, do you think EV will bench Suarez for Mbabpe? Or if Mbabpe will perform better than Dembele/Coutinho on the Wings?

One thing i completly agree with you and have repped you for i regarding EV. I dont think he is the right choice for Barca and it always feel like Barca is underperforming given the talent we have in every match. It feels like we are doing doing good depsite of him rather than because of him.

Mbappé is not a central striker in a 4-3-3. He wouldn't replace Suarez. He'd play left wing which he would do fine. Or a support striker in a 4-4-2 or some variation of it.

    And you base this on?

The guy is just 20 years old and looks to have similar skillset to R9. Give him some more years before you completly rule him out as a central striker in a “4-3-3”.

R9 was never a central striker in a 4-3-3 AFAIK. Don't think he ever played in that system.

Hard to tell - black pants. But from the silhouette it seems promising.

Hopefully wearing a different pair in Madrid on June 1st.

You don't have to buy it but I do. Neymar has always been a LPB fan since being a kid but ended up in Barca right? So why not mbappe. He was offered to Barca by Monaco and Barca could have afforded him! I think Bartomeu messed up badly there. I firmly believe that, people like to deny it cause it hurts knowing.

Also of course there won't be another GOAT heir but someone that fills half his shoes with 10-15 goals. That's what I meant.

One has also think that Messi makes the team better and in that the players so without Messi we'll see how good some players really are, I think we'll be surprised.

If all of us lived to 1,000 years old we will never see another Messi, treasure every minute he is the football pitch as a Barca player.
