    FT: 4-4.

Still not happy. Lead goes from 10 to 8. This game was incredibly winnable. No reason to have anything less than a win.

In the grand scheme of things, this 1 point doesn't help a lot, but still good to keep the streak going.

Not having watched most of the game, but that seems to be the case. Up 2 x 0 early and no reason to give that lead up. Coutinho should have made it 3 early on. MAtS definitely messed up on the 2nd goal.

Not sure how Malcom played overall but goal and assist are good to see. Definitely cannot play without Pique at this point.

Very likely their first game paired together, and you are right, it showed, it was definitely Pique's first Liga game missed all freaking season. The upside is that Pique is available for the Atletico match. And a win over Atletico is worth more as they are our nearest rival (win = 6 points taken off the magic number & tie = 3 points taken off it, which now stands at 17 points, whereas only 3 were at stake today in a game Barca in which was involved).

personally scoring 2 at the death will do wonders for the remainder of the season

the sense of belief in this team is tremendous

by my calculations only 3 defeats in last 68 la liga games

I guess I deserve some credit for having Malcom as the opening thread protagonist...

I think it's the 3rd year in a row that we have a 4 goal thriller.

Yep. Only 2 where La Liga wasn't wrapped up. Last 18 games it has been 14 wins and 4 draws.

1 point does help IMO. Not gonna look back on this season and say the league was blown because of a draw in a tough building to play in (even if we did blow the league).

Err.. Roberto was the architect of that opening goal. My mother could’ve have finished that chance; it was all about that through-ball.

Yeah, Roberto not only set up that goal but was probably the best defensive and all around performer of the back 6 (defensive line, Busi, and MAtS).

English highlights 11:33 minutes, not Ray Hudson (for better and worse), but good HD https://www.yoursoccerdose.com/2019/04/02/villarreal-vs-barcelona-highlights/#2

Graham Hunter is actually one of the two guys in the booth and his words at the end are like, this is the point that wins Barca the league; before that his commentor buddy channeled his inner Ray Hudson by talking about Pythagoras on Messi's free kick

    Commentator sounds like SImon Hanley.
Hanley and Hunter often announce La Liga matches together.

Ten lessons learned from the match, according to Sport, agree with most: https://www.sport-english.com/en/ne...m-their-crazy-draw-against-villarreal-7388053

Messi overtook Ronaldo by 1 goal for most goals in a top 5 league with his 415th Liga strike, that one could go back and forth for awhile, or Messi could keep it forever, time will tell (Messi once led the all time CL scorer chart but now is far behind Ronaldo 124 to 108; Raul's former record was 71 to put that in perspective). Due to the tie, he remains tied with Casillas for most Liga wins at 334.

I wouldn't expect CR7 to start more than 1 or 2 more Serie A matches this season, assuming Juve beats Ajax. Messi? Doubt he would start any less than 6 more games. So I don't see it going back-and-forth. At this stage of their respective careers, if Messi takes a 6-8 goal lead its pretty much a permanent lead. Next target for Messi is 500! :notworthy:

Pretty impressive tallies for both to say the least. Kun Agüero who has done nothing but score goals since he was 16 playing for Independiente just surpassed 250 league goals across the 3 leagues he played in.

great performance from Villareal. i really hope they don't get relegated.
Pique was sorely missed. Umtiti very rusty but he's been out for a while so that's understandable.
great to see Malcom growing into the team. sad watching Coutinho doing the opposite.
TerStegen got caught on that second goal, but he put in another solid performance despite letting in 4.
great mental strength and tenacity from the team to come back from the dead in the final minutes.

Has Ronaldo scored 414, or 417?

I know he has 84 for Man Utd, 311 for RM, and 19 for Juve — that is 414.

But I read that he has 3 for Sporting Lisbon as well?
