It's looking likely he's going to Zenit, so why not. Joined us in 2008, we didn't know anything except a grainy video of him playing for Lokomotiv set to a Christina Aguilera tune. That brace he scored against Pool in the CL, he willed us back into that game. It still feels like it happened just yesterday. That said, best of luck. It's a shame he really went downhill at RB, but he was great for us. 826436188890357764 is not a valid tweet id In Steven Gerrard's last five seasons at LFC, he scored 28 non-penalty goals.Guess how many Ivanovic scored over that same period?28.— Jake Cohen (@JakeFCohen) January 31, 2017
In 9 years with Chelsea, Ivanovic managed 68 goals and assists (34 each). That's over 7.5 per season coming from a RB/CB.— Jake Cohen (@JakeFCohen) January 31, 2017
i'm glad to see this thread. he's gotten a lot of stick the last couple of seasons. good to know that everyone can still remember the force he was. for a while he was the absolute first name on the team sheet. an incredible all around player.
Even mor eincredible given that he came here as a CB, found a place at RB and made it his. A serious defender and at times, our best striker! Good on him to want to still play and contribute, which I think he can. Just not...here right now.
Dan Levene had some nice words for Ivan. Says he was a player that truly got what Chelsea was all about.
Zero denying he is a legend, however trash I think he's been the last couple years. Awesome player, great character. He will be missed.
