I texted my son's (17&21) and even my wife who are all ecstatic! It's truly a great day for America and double the fun that Iron 81's panties are twisted in knots! Savor the taste everyone...savor it!!! Tears never tasted so delicious.
It's not just the rent, it's also that all the revenue streams in that place already have landowners and a small tenant (like us) is begging for scraps. At our size, I don't think it's possible to be economically viable there.
It may be a ways off but I’m looking forward to actually posting about games, players, and stats rather than to threads that start with, “The Fire Suck! What are you drinking, eating, watching, etc.”
Our friend with the POST OF THE DAY! In a day of great news and great posts, this one takes the prize.
They took their time announcing the move to Soldier Field and we knew Joe would eventually buy the rest of the club. Worst kept secrets in sports. Now we have to wait to see what he does with Nelson and Pauno and how much he is willing to spend to make us winners again.
Tom Rickett's net worth is 2.3 billion. Mansueto's worth is 3.8 billion. Anything is economically viable now.
And people like @dlm_Fire keep ignoring how bad a financial situation B-view was even with good attendance projections.
No one has seen the deal , but some of rumors make it appear that there is some sort of revenue sharing. What form and how much is unknown. But it appears the City of Chicago wanted the team at Soldier Field.
Yeah, we thought that before and then once we were a tenant we found out otherwise. I would presume all the hype about "sign up to find out the stadium news" is basically a tool to try to show them big numbers of folks interested to cut the best deal....we'll see how the reality of that goes. It's awfully late in the day to not have a deal for next year....the side with it's feet to the fire is not NSF.
