Oh - sorry didn’t realize we’re talking about Eden Hazard - who won EPL “player of the year” a few season’s ago for wining and crying every time he got knocked off the ball and for falling over just about anytime someone ran by him...and who really hasn’t done much since...other than perhaps get JoMo ‘released’...which I found quite entertaining...

Oops - I think I did it again...gotta be more careful with that ‘Post Reply’ button ;)

Somebody has to say it. We are in second place.

We need a one nil chav win tomorrow, I'd settle for a draw though.

I think a draw is the best outcome.

Bit of a conundrum. If they draw Manure would be tied with us for second place.
If the Chavs win then they and manure would be tied at third place. Both one point short of us.
It's getting to be fun now.

In the long run, I am more concerned about Chelsea than ManU except for the fact that the big game with the latter comes up pretty quickly. Yanited has City in early April which should be a loss for them. LFC's penultimate match is Chelsea, but the bulk of the schedule is with teams in the bottom half, IIRC.

    As usual, you're mostly right...;)

Worse result of the scenario as Manure win and go 2 points up on us.

All good, just means we'll have to beat them on their patch and not look back the rest of the season.

It actually isn’t that bad because we now get a little daylight in the top 4 race.

Chelski play City next week and we play Newcastle.

We need to do our job, and good chance Chelski will drop points again.

    Liverpool has the following:
Home to Watford, Bournemouth, Stoke and Brighton
Away to ManU, Everton, Palace, WBA and Chelsea

22 points from that string of matches would be awesome. 79 points isn't a guaranteed 2nd, but it's usually 2nd.

    LOL!!!

9 matches. Win 7, lose one, draw one. How many points is that? Do you need more fingers?

Yep, a 7 point gap over 5th with 9 to play pretty much assures us of top 4.

5 wins, 4 draws from the remaining fixtures gets us to 76 which has always been enough for 4th.

    Challenge Accepted

Max points for each team in each of the 4 scenarios where everyone wins all remaining games expect those against each other. IE. Utd beats LFC, but LFC wins all remaining games, etc.

    Capture1.JPG

City note: if they win out they would have 102 points. They still have games against, Utd, Spurs Chelsea and Arsenal. Even if they lose all 4 of those, they still would have 90, so we need them the lose 5 games and a draw assuming we can't catch them on GD. Teams that win the EFL cup usually have a pretty bad run of form, so we are still in with a chance. :)

Friend and I are going over this same thing, mostly trying to do "likely results" rather than winning out...

LFC next 5: Newcastle, @ Utd, Watford, @ Palace, @ everton.
Likely results: between 10 and 13 points.
    After 33 played: 67 or 70 points

Chelsea next 5: @ City, Palace, @ burnley, Spurs, West Ham
Likely results: between 7 and 10 points
    After 33 played: 60 or 63 points

Spurs next 5: Hudd, @Bmouth, Newcastle, @ chelsea, @ Stoke
Likely results: between 10 and 13 points
    After 33 played: 65 or 68 points

ManU next 5: @ Palace, Liverpool, B&H, @ west ham, Swansea
Likely results: between 8 and 13 points
    After 33 played: 67 or 72 points

Those were our conclusions, for the most part.

We are in a god spot for top four...
As much fun as it is to guess who's going to win, lose and where each team will finish, it is most important that this team focus on the next game on the schedule - a potential banana peel agains Rafa's Newcastle...as much as we all might like to think that Rafa would be OK taking it easy on his former team, that is not likely to be the case...and one JonJo Shelvey will certainly be out for blood...if he plays...

    One game at a time!

LOL. "not likely" should say "no way in hell".

also, rafa is a sharp enough manager to know how set up his team to get a result against us.

and given Newcy's desperate state, he won't give a crap about parking the bus if he thinks he has to.
