Cristante is now with Roma. Is that good or bad? We see what happens to promising young Italian players when they go to big Serie A teams.

I like the Cristante transfer. As much as I love the guy, DDR is on his last legs. Strootman is trash and Radja is getting up there in age. Pellegrini and Cristante are their future.

I am hoping to see a lot of Pellegrini and Cristante together in the MF to build chemistry for the national team. If they can develop into very good starters for a UCL team like Roma, it will really improve our Midfield looking ahead to 2020 and beyond.

Nainggolan still has a few more good years, but DDR is just too old now. He is way too slow. Strootman only had a few good years, and was nothing special. Although he is only 28, he seems to be losing it.

I think Strootman is absolutely horrible. He would never get in my team against anything more than a mid table team. DDR is old, but he can turn up for a match. In some of Roma's UCL matches he was the best player on the pitch by far. He can still distribute at a very high level

You are right. Yes DDR can still be great here and there, like the UCL matches, but he cannot be relied on as a starting player always.

    I agree about Strootman.

Not racist at all. I was talking about Nigerian culture. It was more to do with the way they approach things culturally.

Germany just beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 only too, in Germany.

That is what I am saying --- don't look into the past too much.

This was also a friendly....and Saudi almost tied them at the very end.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    90' + 4' FULL TIME: GERMANY 2-1 SAUDI ARABIA.

90' + 3' WHAT A MISS! That should have been the equaliser! Al Jassim raced clear in the area and looked all set to snatch a draw but, at the vital moment, he elects to pass and try and set up Al Sahlawi. There are appeals for a penalty as Hummels bundles into Saudi Arabia’s forward, but there is nothing doing for the referee.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additionally, Saudi had 11 shots, versus Germany's 16.

Saudi is probably the weakest team at the WC, but to expect Italy to roll over them 4-0 with a brand new coach is not realistic.

It is not all bad for you. You have a very good central back pairing in the making. Chiesa is special.

Balotelli almost always will get you goals.

I am not sure where Orsolini is now, but he was very promising in the U20 World Cup; Cutrone is coming through the ranks.

I am sure there is a lot of talent in the pipeline.

Is it just me or is Germany not looking good at all? I might have to eat those words later in the tournament but they've been playing like crap.

Same. At least Mancini kept one of the wingers nearer to midfield, in a floating No10 role. But going forward, i expect they'll move closer to 4 midfielders (either diamond of something) and play a more compact game overall.
