ive always liked Montolivo. sure hes fragile but on his day he is a great midfielder. Hes coming back from injury and i wana see him hit fine form again. Monto is 30 years old now so hopefully his experience will help him become a better player this season

Speaking of Montolivo, the guy put in a commanding performance. Yeah, Milan back to playing more possession in the midfield with him in the lineup . All those passes back to Romagnoli were world class. Inter had a hard time possessing the ball and thus increasing their 1 goal win! Fantastic.

It looks to me that DDR, Pirlo, Valdifiori, Motta, Montolivo are all competing for the same spot. While Marchisio, Parolo, Verratti, Bertolacci, Bonaventura? Saponara, Sturraro etc for the other midfield positions.

Over a tournament though I agree with you that their legs wouldn't hold up and therefore a strong supporting cast is essential.
