Well Dortmund and Leipzig lost. Bayern won.

Roma won, Juve drew, Napoli lost.

All EPL teams won except Chelsea. I think its safe to say all EPL teams will probably make the round of 16, however that might not be good for each other though. Since there are five and that they can't draw each other in Round of 16, and also considering cannot draw the teams in their group, minimizes the chances to at least two of them getting a really tough draw.

Napoli might not make it out of their group, and while it is a blow, it could be good news for the Serie A, as that would put them in pole position to be Europa League Champions, and especially with Juve and Roma probably making it out could put Serie A at a great chance of doing well. Actually with Real Madrid and Bayern coming in second, and Juve not being able to draw Barca, the toughest team they could face is PSG which is honestly great luck for them.

Bundesliga is honestly not in good shape at all. Dortmund is definitely not making it out of the group, and could possibly even miss out on Europa League at this rate. Even if they do go down to Europa, I am not sure how well they would perform considering they can't even beat APOEL at home. Leipzig could also miss out on Europa League even, but if they do make Europa League, I honestly have no idea how far they will go. Could depend very much on the draw. Bayern is in a good position though, and should make it past Round of 16 unless they draw Barcelona.

Here is how I see it playing out at the moment:

A: Man Utd, Basel, CSKA Moscow
    B: PSG, Bayern, Celtic
    C: Roma, Chelsea, Atletico
    D: Barcelona, Juventus, Sporting
    E: Sevilla, Liverpool, Spartak
    F: Man City, Shakhtar, Napoli
    G: Besiktas, Porto, Monaco
    H: Spurs, Real Madrid, Dortmund

There's no way they take the E.L. seriously enough to win it. Especially if they are still in the Scudetto hunt.

Somehow you spun-it that having 5-for-5 teams advance to the KO stage is not good for England in the context of the UEFA coefficient.

Yeh, well, that's Italy-Azzurri-Fan for you...

Thought Spurs played really well against Real and in fact ran Real's defence ragged at times. Ditto man City at Napoli.

Well it really all depends. In one way it is good for the coefficient because the more teams you get in the next round the better for the coefficient of course. However the problem is there is a good chance a lot of this could go wrong.

Say if only three EPL teams went in to next round, they would all have a decent chance of getting favorable draws. However with All 5 going through (3 likely winners, and 2 likely runners up), there is a huge chance of two of them at least getting a really tough draw and not making it past Round of 16. What I am saying is maybe if those 2 that might not make it past went down to Europa, they could have went further and made more coefficient points.

Well they might make semifinals though. It all depends on the draw. I suppose they could still win it. Trust me though with Ghoulam out for probably most of the season now, I doubt Napoli is going to keep up with the Scudetto hunt. There's Napoli's problem. Lose one player to injury, they could be in deep trouble.

Juventus, Roma, and Inter will probably take top 3, and Napoli 4th. I don't see Napoli keeping up for too much longer without Ghoulam.

It seems like many Napoli supporters understand the clear squad limitations in this side. Napoli simply lack the depth to advance in multiple competitions. Inter have a great coach and play once a week. Juve have two teams. If Napoli were to lose any of the front three, Jorgihno, or a CB on top of Ghoulam, it is absolutely possible for them to finish below expectations.

I don't like Lazio, but they're off to a great start. The question is if Ciro Immobile can continue to score so much. He has the most goals of any player in the top five leagues with 14, which is 1 more than Falcao. On that note, who are the best players on clubs in UEFA that are not in the Champions League Group Stage?

Reaching the Round of 16 is worth 5 points. Therefore a Premier League club that is eliminated with a draw and a loss in the Round of 16 would get 6 points after the Group Stage. If the club gets two wins in the Europa League Round of 32, a win and a draw in the Round of 16, and a draw and loss to be eliminated in the Quarterfinals, that would be 8 points after the Group Stage. You also have to factor in that clubs go to the Europa League because they got fewer points in the Champions League Group Stage than the top two in their group. It's impossible to know which competition after the Group Stage would give a club more points when factoring in the 5 point bonus for reaching the Champions League Round of 16. I think the Premier League would want all five clubs to reach the Round of 16 even if they could have gotten slightly more points by having some clubs go to the Europa League.

Having 5 clubs make it to the R16 essentially ensures that one will reach the semifinals at least. That is of course unless all 5 crash out.

Not really. Every team has to perform well. That saying though one of them could make the semis with a good draw which is very possible. Although we could say that even with 3 EPL teams through. It clearly depends on the draw and how the individual team performs during that time.

You and him are just bashing me, while I am actually giving great explanations of my reasons for saying everything I say. If you actually found ways to seriously counter my arguments and give legit reasons on why you disagree with me, maybe I would take both of you more seriously. That means after reading my argument, tell me why I am wrong as well.

Be like @EvanJ. He is actually giving reasons and really saying why he predicts certain things.

That is true of all teams and leagues. That said, it is far easier for a league to make further when they are represented by 5 out of 16 teams. Quantity certainly matters.

Did the Bundesliga bypass the Serie A today?

Both had a win, draw, and loss in UCL. In EL Bundesliga 2 wins and a draw. Serie A 1 win and 2 draws.

Ugh, that equalizer from Apollon Limassol seriously devastated me. Atalanta should have won the game. Didn't watch the AC Milan game, but they should be beating Athens.

Thankfully though, all three Serie A teams are in pole position to advance, while despite good results from Hertha and Kohln, neither will probably advance. Hoffenheim doesn't look like they will either although they have best chance out of all Bundesliga teams.

What are the coefficient points now? Are we still ahead of Bundesliga?

Well glad they didn't bypass us this time, but we need to be careful. They seem quite close to us.

The coeffecience will make no difference next year since the top four leagues will each have 4 automatic entries into the CL.

Ya it doesn't make a difference as long as we're top 4 but it's still interesting to find out who is ranked where IMO.

For ItalyAzzurriFan, your comments are just plain retarded, you change your mind literally every week once results change. When Atletico drew Roma at home and when Napoli beat Roma away you were talking about how Roma will finish 5th.

There's also something called a January market which is 2 months away. Not to mention that we've already won away from home against Lazio and Roma. Ya sure we drew Inter at home, if we crash our of Europe and we only have Serie A, our starting lineup will play every week (kinda like now anyways but more fresh) and we'll definitely finish top 2.

Inter has yet to play against Juventus and Lazio.
Roma has yet to play against Juventus, Lazio and Milan
Juventus has yet to play against Inter, Roma, and Napoli
Napoli has yet to play against Juventus and Milan.

We have the easiest schedule before the market while currently leading in the table. I'm not saying we'll win the league. But the other teams you listed are expected to drop more points with their tougher schedule.

How's that for an explanation asshole

Italy started with 6 clubs and Germany started with 7, so in the CL and EL combined Italy got 7/6 = 1.167 and Germany got 8/7 = 1.143. In the coefficients a win is worth 2 points and a draw is worth 1.
