I watched The American just now. I have yet to see it from the beginning, it is a bit dark but based in Italy and so nice to be able to understand with no subtitles necessary (this one did not use them). George Clooney portrays an assassin whose last job is in Italy. All he has to do is create a rifle but the intent is to use it on him. Anyway, he falls for a local prostitute (Violante Placido) who has the same affect her mother had in a classic that was released 45 years ago.

Yes. He married former runner up of Miss Italia, Beatrice Bocci. He is 1/2 Abruzzese and 1/2 Pugliese and was born in Taranto. Coincidentally her first husband's name was Alessandro Greco as well! Go figure!
I have seen his show only once. I know of him more for his performance on the Tale Quale Show and other appearances on RAI productions.
