Alderweireld and Bailly would make for a formidable duo in the physio room.

Him, Saul and Alderweireld / insert excellent mature CB authority figure here, would be my ideal summer. As long as Mou wises up to 4-3-3 and playing Alexis out right.

And attacking strategy and a high tempo and setpiece defending and getting subs right and generally not being shit against anybody who turns up.

If you're going to lock the OTT thread, at least come back and unlock it after the game is over. Whoever did this.

Got distracted by the fact that not only did City choke against Wigan again, but Sporting scored a 96th minute winner! Football is the real winner today

The post you quoted was speaking on locking the transfer thread.

Jose makes Kroos his prime CM target.

    www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/manchester-united-transfer-news-toni-kroos-real-madrid-paul-pogba-future-latest-a8217781.html

As excellent an acquisition he would be, I just don't see it, unless Real are planning on directly replacing him somehow (which looks unlikely with the other needs they have).
Kovacic still appears to be the more likely CM guy to be moved on. But if there is any inkling of Kroos being in play, of course, United need to pounce as he'd make a perfect compliment to Pogba.

    Give me Kovacic any day.

According to Sky Italia an offer for SMS is made for 180 mil euro plus 20 mil ad-dons by an unknown club. Is it us?

Garbage rumour. One can get 2 or 3 elite players for that price.

Nobody is going to pay 180m plus adds.

Sergej is a great talent, with a big future potentially. But he still hasn't done much over an extended period, if we're being real about things.
In this crazy market, he's should be worth €80-90mil tops. With big money clubs possibly trying to outbid each other, it could go to 100. But it's really as far as it should go.

Right, and I don't think Spurs will let Kane go since they are moving into the new stadium.

There's no doubt that Kane would be Real's preferred target, but not only Spurs and Levy will make negotiations hard, but Kane himself will give it every opportunity to help his club attain success.
Real will give it a go one last time after the season, with a crazy offer. And when that will be rejected, they'll go for Lewa. He's 29 already but they should expect to get at least 2 solid seasons from him.

Surely Milan were smart enough to put in a clause to trigger the full transfer.

Although I guess Kessie could refuse to sign if he knows we're interested.

That quote was allegedly dated back two or more seasons ago.

The deal between between Atalanta and Milan is: they take him on loan for 2 seasons, then they are under obligation to buy him then.
Guessing it was done that way for FFP purposes (due to all the other players they ad already bought then).
Suppose there's always a way to strike some type of deal with Milan when they have to buy, but that would appear unlikely, unfortunately.

Also watching him at Milan he is playing a bit more of a forward role a b2b or an 8. Initially I thought he would be more of a 6/8 than an 8. We really need a 6 controlling the team and we have lots of 8.

    Would you take Moussa Dembele?

I would in a heart beat to complement Pogba. Much better retainer than Matic.
