http://www.brotherlygame.com/2017/1...signs-philadelphia-union-academy-isaiah-young Former Union Academy forward signs with Germany’s Werder Bremen A South Jersey youth soccer star who spent a season with the Philadelphia Union Academy is heading to Germany. Isaiah Young announced on social media Saturday that he’s signed with Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga. 18 year old Young starred at Players Development Academy after leaving the Union Academy, and returned to the club this fall after backing out of his commitment to play college soccer at Wake Forest. The Berlin, N.J. native led the Union U16 team in goals in their first season in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with 13 back in 2013-14. The U.S. youth international had nine goals in just seven appearances this season for PDA after helping lead them to the USSDA semifinals last summer, a run that included a 3-1 win over his former club in a quarterfinal match in Chester.

Side note: Parchman writes in his TDS article "Young is the only American currently entrenched in Werder Bremen’s development foxholes." There could be another one, '03 Tyron Haake, who may well be German-American but for whom we haven't able to officially confirm yet. Like Xuxuh Hilton or Joshua Pynadath apparently did with Sergino Dest at Ajax, hopefully Young can alert the USSF to Haake if he is indeed American.
Made his Werder Bremen U-19 debut in a 6-0 loss to Hannover 96, starting and going 78'. Lyonel Hyer subbed in for Hannover. https://www.werder.de/de/aktuell/news/junioren/20162017/lz-aktuell/lz-aktuell-06022017/
The link shows highlights of the game. Young scored the 6th, and I believe he had the assist on the 7th. http://tv.dfb.de/video/17-spieltag-staffel-nord-nordost-alle-spiele-alle-tore/16731/

Those are a couple impressive highlights. Shifts pass his man and makes a tight space split pass for an assist. Then a quick give and go where he donk touched at first, but then I think he dragged the ball behind his own leg (smoothly) to beat his man and slotted past the keeper. That one might be worth the Sturridge celebration.
That's his 3rd goal and 5th assist in 9 appearances this year. A pretty good haul in his first half season overseason

Interesting - any word on whether he made made a permanent move up to the U-23s now? I suppose he must be aging up anyway.
Ramos called him up three times in 2016 and reportedly tried to bring him in for the England camp just before the finals but couldn't get him released. I don't know if Ramos was ever asked about him during the various interviews regarding the Finals roster -- don't recall seeing anything about it in the articles I read.
