    Ok I'm going to be controversial and say that I don't really like FM08, so much so that I've just un-installed it and re-installed FM07, which i find to be the best game of the series since way back in the day of Championship Manager 4.

    Championship manager 4 was easily the worst of all the champ managers though, so that immediately calls your taste into question :D

    I've played about 10 hours of WSM 08 over the last few days now and its galaxies better than FIFA. I'm well and truly addicted now. :D
    Reps for everyone who convinced me to buy it!!!

    Greetings everyone !

    I am sorry for the "newbie" question, but i got to this thread/forum by using google search :) !

    I am about to buy one of these latest Football Manager games.

    As for 2008, we do have . . .
    * Fifa Manager
    * Championship Manager
    * Football Manager

    What does WWSM stands for ?

    Is it the same as Football Manager 2008 ?

    yup

    It's actually WSM 08 or Worldwide Soccer Manager 08. It's the name for it here in the States.

    He's correct, I'm posting just to add that I think WWSM/FM is an outstanding game. It's probably the best sports simulator of any genre I've ever seen.

    WWSM is the US release of Sports Interactive's Football Manager.

    It's the same game just with a different name, if you want a management sim then that is the one that you should get.

    unless the reason you're buying it is to play MLS.

    in which case, WWSM is a pile of shit.

    I am a binge user of WWSM... I had the '06 version and I was spending anywhere from 2 to 6 hours a day playing... and then would leave it on. On one game I had logged over 200 days of playing time just because the PC was always on. I am an addict... I admit it. so help me by saying that '08 is not better than the '06 release... please say it. Otherwise Im thinking of buying the download tonite (if my dino-PC will handle it).

    2008 is not better than the 2006 release.

    Seriously though, I like 2007 a lot better than 2008, not sure of my thoughts of 2006 vs. 2008. At this point, you might as well wait until this fall (roughly October) when 2009 comes out and get that. :D

    It's not really worth getting 2008, for the handful of cool new features it has the game is horribly buggy and the match system seems to have regressed. I'll be won't be running out and buying 2009 when it's realeased in a couple of months either, will play the demo and probably wait till February and decide then.

    For the record 2006 is the version I have enjoyed the most.

    @ lethargytartare: why would you want to play in MLS anyway? :p
