    People, what do you think?

Is Kevin De Bruyne really worth €80 million, or is he just overpriced like the rest of City's squad?

Let me know what you think!

    I agree with you completely!

Paying €80 million for a player you don't need is crazy!

He is the Bundesliga player of the year. What fee should he have fetched?

Certaintly not 80. 60 tops IMO. What were other clubs bidding for him?

Well De Bruyne had one excellent season, and that was that. You can't really place that kind of amount on a player with just one good season. Let's not forget that he wasn't good enough for Chelsea

Absolutely. One season wonder. Such a high pricetag is way too much pressure on him.

Fair price I suppose. De Bruyne was bought for €25m and had a good season at Wolfsburg so his market value was on the rise. Add to this the increased risk for Wolfsburg for missing out on a CL spot this season if they sell their star player, which is probably worth €40m on it's own for the club, and it explains the premium City has to pay.

Not to mention City likes to brag how it dropped 50 million on a single player like its nothing.

Well this is the club's main marketing strategy :)

    Fair price.
Sterling was 44m+5m, and that could have gone higher if he's not so desperately wanted to leave, so De Bruyne's 55m seems reasonable to me.
I believe he has potential to become a better player than Eden Hazard.

De Bruyne also had 4 years left on his contract for Wolfsburg and in todays market with fees skyrocketing they could have probably just kept him for another 2 years and sold him for 50+ million after that anyway. Citiy had to go high to get him now.
