Even currently, just because Dortmund made the final last year doesn't mean they are the better team.

For me right now Bayern are unstoppable, they are on that Barcelona level 3 years ago. It will take an upset from a club like Arsenal to derail them.

Currently - in cases like this - surely includes some recent past. I mean, the last match Real Madrid played was a draw against Bilbao. You wouldn't say they are equally good, would you?

Bayern Munich is a powerhouse, but i wouldn't ignore Real madrid because they have so much weapons. They can be team to beat in the next 2 years to come. As for Barcelona still the best, but they are now sinking, no longer that flamboyant anymore.

Valencia beat Barcelona 3-2. Things like this happen, and are mostly because of a certain red card. That doesn't say anything.

The point is that Barcelona is not that strong of a team anymore. No team should be beaten by Bayern Munich 7-0. They should be a better team than that. Real Madrid lost on penalties to them with a 2-2 draw with basically the same team we the year before.

Barcelona is still a very strong team. It will be extremely hard for another Barca team like the 2010-11 team to come out and dominate, that doesn't happen a lot.

    Compare things evenly and fairly.

Not "basically the same team'. One Bayern team won nothing even losing at home to Chelsea, the other team was a machine that won the treble while finishing 20-25 points above Dortmund. Pretty big difference!

You obviously think failing to get to the CL final despite an easy draw is better than getting blown-out by the best team in the world. We get it. Repeating it eighteen hundred times isn't going to make us agree with you, but we hear ya!

    Agree!
One would say Barca are now no longer the best team but they are still strong (among TOP5)

The squad was basically the same. Both went to the CL final. It was the same quality, just with better luck. It's only a year difference.

Currently they are on top but they will need to win champions league this year to stay on top, Real Madrid, Man City, PSG, Chelsea all have the talent to knock them off.

I would rank them right now as:

    1. Bayern
    2. Real Madrid
    3. PSG
    4. Chelsea
    5. Atletico Madrid
    6. Man City
    7. Chelsea
    8. Dortmund
    9. Barca
    10. Juventus

Its just because Barcelona set their standard up high and that's why people think they are not strong anymore. Give a situation when Ronaldo will go for a season with less than 30 or 40 goals , that's normal for a player but because of his standards you start to question and have a forum for that. He will be still as lethal as he was before.

    yes and NO

Yes: Barca from 09-now set a good standard in possession balls and passing

NO: in scoring it was NOT the Barca (Messi) NOR Real (CR7) that set a standard, it was the result that the rest of 18 team LIGA since last 6 years BOW out and ALLOWED alot of goals (much more than normal)

cuz all good they've done since 09 is possession...

Also, Barca and Madrid equal to Messi/Cristiano, and other Liga teams just felt like allowing to concede more.

I mean **** this is pretty weak lol.

    exactly.
Both Barca and Real played for Messi /CR7
and all other 18 teams played for Barca and Real ..
    Do the math = 2x2 = 4 times weaker ...

Barca wants Messi's success more than Barca's success.
Real Madrid wants Cristiano's success more than Real Madrid's success.
The rest teams of La Liga want Barca's and Real Madrid's success, instead of succeed themselves.
La Liga is four times weaker.

    Got it.

It seem like UEFA want Barca success as well with the way the Refs always help barca. Every close call always seems to go their way no matter who they're playing.

It might not be their idea from the start , but somehow it ENDS up like you suggest ... not a bad idea though !

City? Penalty was questionable, but they had a perfectly good goal disallowed. Not to mention the handball in the box. There are matches in which Barca benefits from refereeing and there are matches in which Barca suffers from it. Nothing special about it.

If you're anti-Barca, it's a nice myth to believe to, though. But it's not really true.

Sure. During a season, they get thousand calls go their way. But they also get thousand calls go against them, so it evens out. Like it does with every other team.
