Anyone else watching this? It's BET's foray into MMA, with a heavier entertainment aspect than we're used to in MMA shows. There are teams fronted by celebrity owners (T.I, Dipset, Nelly, Ludacris, Lil' Jon, and Floyd Mayweather) and MMA coaches ("Crazy Horse" Bennett and Shonie Carter being among them). Each team's going to have a Lightweight, a Middleweight and a Heavyweight. Fights are still going on that the owners are using to select their teams. It's apparently getting decent ratings. It ain't UFC, but it's not trying to be. And I admit, I do think that there's a market there that hasn't really been reached by UFC to date. I tend to stand out somewhat at MMA shows. Anyway...is anyone else watching this?
That's one of the higher compliments I've been paid in some time. -- FYI, BET's doing a marathon tonight from 8-11 PM EST of all of the shows to date. Give it a shot.
