Should be a good game ;)

I can't wish you luck, but at least injury free, quality game :)

Looks like both sides will be missing some key defenders.

I would like to see Mertesacker and Badstuber as our two CBs. Also, would be great to see Podolski and Klose start a game each up front, to determine which player will be the better option up front going forward (I thought Miro was dire in the last 2 qualifiers).

That's a scary slow pairing. I'd give Boateng-Badstuber a go with Lahm and Schmelzer at FB and Bender next to Khedira to give them some cover for the rampaging Fullbacks.

    -------------------------Neuer-----------------

    Boateng--Mertesacker--Badstuber--Schmelzer

    ----------Schweinsteiger---Khedira------------

    Müller-------------Özil-------------Podolski

    -------------------Klose--------------------------

This is what we'll see, you all know it.

Yea and it's ok because all 4 upfront show good form lately.

If he was smart he would try this upfront.

    Muller Ozil reus
Podolski (see what he really can do)

Well ********, 3-5-2 might not be a bad call then.

I would love to see these 2 formations:

    Boetang badstuber schmelzer
    Gotze Ozil piggy kroos schurrle
    Reus muller

Bring in Khedira, bender and Gundogan to finish game off with defensive stability :p

    Other formation:

    Boetang howedes badstuber schmelzer
    Piggy
    Muller Ozil gotze schurrle
    Reus

What's the most likely formation though??

Gündogan and Bender (each and every one of them) are injured.

We dont need them anyway. We've got Schweini, Khedira and Kroos for another 5 to 10 years.

I would be willing to bet 0,35 € on Gündogan becoming better than Schweinsteiger within less than 5 years.

Actually pretty excited for this next series of matches. I look forward to seeing how we do against two decent sides.

Although we should take care of business against Ireland, its a soccer game and anything could happen. Worried about our back 4. As far as our lineup goes, I'm not really sure what Loew will do with 3/4s of our starting defense absent. I wouldn't mind actually bringing back the old 4-4-2. I'm sick of the 4-2-3-1 which seems to be the hot trend now in football. Here's my 11:

    -----------------Neuer---------------------
    Boateng Badstuber Hoewedes Schmelzer
    -----------Schweini Khedira----------------
    ----Oezil--------------------------Reus----
    -----------Klose-----Podolski--------------

The game is being played at the beautiful Aviva stadium. If I wasn't a college student, I would fly out to this game

Love how the whole stadium is 3 layers except for the one side behind the goal

There should be no guessing about formations and lineups, I think its going to be very straightforward.

Enlighten us then. I am actually unsure of what we will see in the next 2 matches. Or do you mean we will see your above lineup for 2 match days in a row?

Yes I don't think we'll see much change. I expect the same formation in both matches and basically the same line ups with perhaps 2 changes between the two games. Why expect anything else?

Well Goetze and Reus were both starters in the opening match of the WM 2014 qualifiers, so perhaps there is more competition now amongst the regular starting XI.

Sure but what makes you think Löw would bench his first choice players or change formations?

I think Reus starting as a winger and Podolski playing as a backup CF in the last 2 matches is one such indication.

Wouldn't really be a change of formation though and do you really think he'll bench Klose? Especially when he's in good form?
