May 27: Iran vs Albania. Match to be played in Istanbul, Turkey. Awaiting confimation on cancellation of the friendly. (Kidding about the last part. Kinda )
Hello, I understand that Omid Nazari who plays for Angelholm FF in the Superettan in Sweden has been called up by Quieroz for Team Melli, in the training camp in Turkey prior to the game against Albania. Does anybody know how he did in training and in the game itself?
Hi. Apparently Omid Nazari did pretty good in the training camp and Carlos Quieroz wanted to test him in the match against Albania. But unfortunately he couldnt, as FIFA had not processed the paper work and issued Omid Nazari his playing card. So he did not play.
Thanks for the info teammelli. It sounds like it is just a matter of paperwork before he can play if he did well during the camp.
You're welcome. He is still with the camp in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Maybe FIFA has granted him his playing card, and he could play against Uzbekistan tomorrow. However with no match practice, its doubtful.
That's great. If you happen to come across any articles or publications on his progress, i would appreciate it if you can post it here.
Sure no problem. Btw just realised this is probably in the wrong thread. Maybe the mod could move our posts to the "official Iranians abroad" thread.

Hey guys, I'm searching (with no luck, of course), but anyone here knows which stadium Iran will play against Trinidad? Sounds weird that being brazilian I can't find it, there's no info here. I'm planning to watch the match and cheer for Iran, of course.
Arena Corinthians, Sao Paulo but from what I heard it will be played behind closed doors with no media presence so I don't think you'll be able to see it but I'm not 100% sure about this.
From my understanding the game will be played at Arena Corinthians. However the game will be played behind closed doors. I don't think they'll be letting any fans in.
Didn't know where to put this in this forum but Iran is going to create CAFF with Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan. "The Congress further approved the proposal of the IR Iran Football Federation regarding the in-principle creation of a “Central” zone (Afghanistan, IR Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) which shall be recognised in the AFC Statutes. As a result, the “South & Central” zone shall be split into two zones" http://www.the-afc.com/en/about-afc...y-prevails-at-afc-extraordinary-congress.html
I never thought that WAFF was a good fit for Iran, the old AFC site had it in the central region too, so its good to see it take shape in the form of CAFF.
