My main issue now is the quoted post, the box need to be a darker shade than the layout so it will be easier to read the post and reply.
I'm hoping join dates and clubs are removed temporarily? Might as well throw post count in there like the good ole days....
slightly off? i'm getting the same personal details page in chrome as bootsy (#31) in firefox; the errors windows that slide out from the left are extremely annoying but obviously temporary. i, as do most people, hate anything new. but it doesn't take me very long to get used to it. remember: anything old once was new and all things new will soon be old. this i feel to be a great improvement. i personally always manually condense long quotes to keep pages from getting unwieldy. you can always click on the arrow to go to the original... often necessary since you need the posts the quotee may have quoted upstream to understand what (s)he is on about. i agree with many that the separation between posts needs to be more pronounced. since there is a state of flux at the moment i would like to suggest that the bar with "watched threads", "watched forums" etc. be repeated at the bottom of the page. that's usually where you are when you want to go to another thread.
Assuming the giant left-hand error bar and the nonfunctional "My" button are going to get fixed...the only other things I don't care for about the new skin are the white-on-white edit box and the missing "Favorite Team" field.
After enduring 12+ years of upgrades on BigSoccer, I can't get worked up about them anymore. I try to look at it like an adventure. But yeah, this needs work, though there's nothing dismaying that I've seen so far, assuming that obvious bugs are fixed timely.
Even though the theme is not back, the formatting now looks good and the mobile version is miles better.
Quick addition, don't know if it has been mentioned: Left nav bar will not close once opened (with errors mentioned above) in Chrome.
For me everything is square with no padding. But maybe this is the counter move to Mac fascism - rock on Internet Explorer 7 emulation!
Hey all - Apologies that this routine upgrade seems to have become the upgrade from heck. I think we are still in patient mode and letting people post even though we aren't fully functional. Allowing posting seems like a happy medium rather than keeping the boards all the way shut down. In other words, please be patient while we sort out some of the issues created by the new version, and I'll try to keep you updated when it's time to really start giving us ********
Booo. I want to complain now! You might just want to disable the boards now anyways, just to let those in the USA Forum boil without an outlet during/after the game. Maybe hope for spontaneous combustion?
Understood; but as a recommendation for the future, you might choose a different time to do this than right before a match that probably most users of the site care about. One day earlier or later would have been a better idea, IMHO.
Yeah - that's a good point - the tech guys have no clue about soccer- and the expectation was it would take about 1/100th of the amount of time, but I need to remember all this for next time so that extra-innings softball game doesn't came as such a surprise, metaphorically speaking. These things happen so infrequently and we had recently done one painlessly that it's easy for these kind of mistakes to be repeated unfortunately.... In this particular case we also felt like we needed to get the upgrade done as soon as possible given the mounting list of problems we were having.
That only showed up for me when I wasn't signed in. The number is the number at the end of a twitter link. You put that in the middle of the tag since Twitter embedding still doesn't work in the media box that suddenly has appeared with text editor options. The BigSoccer Xen Baisik of Default is much better than the other Baisik. I think I like the non-fixed, scalable page width. I could be alone on this, but I don't care for dashed-lines and I think they may be too close to the end of comments. I'm also not a fan of non-solid color backgrounds. I'm not a staff member, but I want a ribbon under my name.
