Two teams that have gotten off to slow starts in their domestic leagues square off at the San Siro in the first round of CL fixtures. Like us, Inter are coming off a home loss, 1-0 to Parma, and have lost 2 of their first 4 league fixtures. We will be without Deli and Hugo again, and Sissoko (if anyone cares).

Two major problems have appeared early doors - our usual slick passing has been poor - too many giveaways in midfield, and our defending of set pieces has been dreadful.

This begins a busy run of fixtures right up to the next international break with Brighton (A) PL, Watford (H) EFL Cup, Huddersfield (A) PL, Barcelona (H) CL, Cardiff (H) PL.

Also, Alderweireld and Trippier will be rested for the Inter game.

Inter are not the Inter of old. Still it's the San Siro, and a draw would be an OK result. Getting out of the group is all that matters. A win would be a nice confidence boost though. Last year our group stage performances really fired us up.

If you're in Canada, you can only watch it on the DAZN streaming network.

Bit of a flukey goal from Eriksen to take the lead, in 53rd.

Both managers trying to out-slick each other in the black shirts, I see.

It’s going to be a long season. Hope Poch can overcome his disdain for domestic cup competitions.

Damn, this team is frustrating. Dominate for 85 minutes and then it's utter panic in the box. Inter are a pretty awful team and we allowed them to win.

For the performance after the 85th minute, I don't think we deserved anything from this game. Instead of killing the game off, everybody just dropped deep and invited Inter to press forward. What is the point of bunkering when nobody on this team knows how to defend?

Kane was shit but taking him off for Rose was stupid. It wasn't just that Poch took him off for a fullback or that it was a negative move. What pisses me off is that Rose hasn't done shit all season to deserve to be on the bench much less play.

We're clearly weak at defending headers. I sure hope the coaches come up with a solution to this because both Vorm and Lloris are being hung out to dry out there.

A carbon copy of the Watford game. Nothing has changed with this team. We still lack the mentality of the top sides to finish teams off. The failure to bolster the squad in the close season has quickly come back to haunt us and with the shambles of the new stadium delays, it is already turning out to be a miserable season.

    Old Spurs have returned.

    The horror, the horror...

Agree with the previous comment about the Kane substitution. If Poch was going to take him off, he should have replaced him with Llorente for his height - Kane was actually our best defender on set pieces and the final few minutes we were under siege because we had no out ball.
