Glad to hear that from him. Although it might seem backwards, perhaps his experience with the NBA is helping. International scouting has become more important in the NBA over the past 10 years. Every team has scouts dedicated to specific international regions. It seems MLS still has a ways to go in the scouting department. It sounds like Checketts realizes this and will be making an effort to enhance RSL's scouting.
I like the comments from Checketts specifically stating that he and RSL will actively seek out fresh and great Int'l talent and not wait for MLS to "find them". With Int'l scouting commencing, all we have to do is learn to play Ajax style down the wings and RSL would be perfect!
