Basic pass given away from Long... This is the second horrific performance I’ve seen in 4 months from him.

 

They literally just dribbled right through our entire right side with no one even coming close.

 

Guys, remember if we are within striking distance with 10 left, we can just put in Lovitz in and turn this game our way! We need to relax!

 

The backline appears to believe that "build out of the back" means "dribble slowly for a bit, then pass back to Steffen when someone looks at you".

I mean, I guess both of those involve defenders passing the ball, so in a certain lens, this is progress.

For this half we have had ONE player four or five thugs and the rest are just taking up space.

 

God they are even pushing us around. This is embarrassing on multiple levels.

Cannon has been good, Zimmerman has been ok, Long is having a bad day, Dest has been poor, Trapp has been his usual mediocre self, McKennie hasn't done much in defending, and Morales seems out of sync with the rest.

We're lucky to be down only one goal.

He has some issues passing out of the back, but a horrific performance for a central defender is one where you bail some of your teammates out on d and don't have a particularly bad giveaway? That's confirmation bias. He's not the cause of the team struggles, and could use a better passing partner so he could be relied upon to supply defense.

If you're referring to the previous game against Mexico as the other "horrific performance" that's far off base as well.

How do you not have a plan B ready to go if they high press. What are you actually practicing in camp? Mexico figured this out in the 2nd half of last game and we are just continuing that. It is such a poorly coached team.

That's ... exactly the reason he gave in the USA-Mexico final for subbing in Roldan in the second half. ..... So I guess we know what half-time adjustments are coming next ....
