I guess this is also the last year that the games will be on FSE. I think next year they will move to telefutura.
Hablame JESUS!!!! MLS refs FTL Tigres in Interliga for the waste! This should be America's time to shine, unless Cruz Azul pwns them all like they were pwnt last year.
Two things wrong with the Group B schedule: Sunday, January 7 games at Pizza Hut Park: Morelia vs. América at 4 p.m. Jaguares vs. Tecos at 6:30 p.m. (América is not playing twice, as the Interliga schedule says) And the two games at Home Depot Center are on Wednesday, January 10, no Tuesday, January 10.
We're screwed, US soccer demands the use of those worthless sacks of pus...I mean MLS refs. for tournaments within the US
The only time I can remember reffing being an issue in this tournament is on Bofo's handball that wasn't called and led to a goal against Jaguares back in 2004. Who would you rather have, Chiquidracula?
Brian Hall awarded a PK to Chivas against Cruz Azul after a blatant Bofo flop. Even Bofo was laughing after the call.
What it comes down to is that the players know they can 'work' these refs. Doesn't make for pretty games. Brian Hall also reffed the Toluca/America CONCACAF champions final which was another fiasco.
What. Interliga is a better pretemporada than any sand-hopping in Cancun, or playing against Atletico San Pancho teams.
Probably because Robertson Stadium is cheaper to rent than Reliant and is already being used for futbol games. Add to that that if they were to play at Robertson, the stadium wouldn't be packed.
I think they're betting on the Texans to make the playoffs... But seriously, I was surprised the finals weren't at Reliant again.
