I just asked him for you. He actually kept the records himself (ie I presume from watching the games and noting them down). https://twitter.com/ENBSports/status/228157118107250688
A magnificent preview of the Ligue 1 season ahead by FFW http://frenchfootballweekly.com/2012/08/08/201213-ligue-1-previews/ Also a brilliant series of season previews from Bundesliga Fanatic http://bundesligafanatic.com/season-preview-1899-hoffenheim-europe-or-avenue-of-broken-dreams/
Does something like this btw also exist for Italy, Spain, Germany or other big leagues? Anyone idea? Much thanks beforehand.

Comme, do you know other great stat books? Either in print or book form? Especially more than aps and goals. Others can answer this question too ofc
Hey guys, this is a link to World Cup puzzle which I've created that I think you might enjoy...there's still a few little bugs in it but its almost ready to go. The objective is to drag and drop the players real names (below) and match them with the image of their nicknames. If you finish the puzzle then you can enter our draw where someone will win a huge home entertainment center (there is no catch, our objective is just to increase our brand visibility, we only need emails so we can notify the winner so feel free to use any junk email you want as long as you check it when we announce the winner). Please let me know what you think as any feedback from real football fans is invaluable. Thanks for your help! http://www.worldcupnicknames.com/
I'm not sure if it was posted. List of Online Newspaper Archives by country http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:List_of_online_newspaper_archives
I found the Austrian source from this link, which is a sport exclusive newspaper. Any UK and German recommandations which are useful for football research purposes? Daily newspaper would be best. All I've tried so far had underwhelming sports coverage.
I have a library log in which will get you into the Times archive and also news bank which covers all major papers for the last 15 years. PM me for details.
I remember the Sunday Times preview supplement for World Cup 1994 was good if any of you would be interested to look at it, and if you can access it comme (not in the last 15 years though, and the Sunday Times rather than the Times, and a supplement rather than the main paper...so not sure but thought I'd mention it).
Yep, that's all there on Newsbank. It's in text format and split by individual articles (ie each preview is an article in its own right), so if there were specific ones you wanted then let me know.
Oh, ok great thanks. So there are 32 previews I guess, plus additional pages including Terry Venables all-time XI (who played in World Cups, but not based on play in World Cups IIRC - he included Van Basten and Gullit so that seems clear; he picked a Christmas Tree formation anyway, while he was planning to experiment with that as his England formation or had already done so depending when he wrote the piece). I'll leave it to others to ask for any previews then, although I'll read anything posted to remind myself of it (it was not something I found recently when I unearthed some old football pull-outs etc including one for Euro 88 by Shoot). Thanks very much.
@comme I have my own access to New York Times archives. What date(s) were the World Cup 1994 previews?

Some good all-time (or often 'played with/against') XI's posted on Xtratime I notice: http://www.xtratime.org/forum/showthread.php?t=257025&page=11 I'd seen the Barthez and Mendieta ones on Sky but not the others (but saw a Lineker England XI somewhere else that was identical or similar)
