I was kind of bored at work and did some stats about official matches of Germany, focusing on the matches they have lost. Found some interesting facts:

    - In total they have lost only 40 official matches against 22 countries.
    - They have lost most matches (4) against Italy and Czech Republic.
    - Worst defeats are 3-8 against Hungary 1954, 1-5 against England 2001, 3-6 against France 1958, 0-3 against Croatia 1998, 0-3 against Portugal 2000, 0-3 against Czech Republic 2007.
    - Coaches with most losses are Schon with 6 losses in 14 years, Vogst with 6 losses in 8 years and Low with 6 losses in 7 years.
    - Year with most losses is 1982 with 3.
    - Since 1967 when they started participating in all WC/EC the longest period without losses is from semi-final of WC 1970 against Italy (3-4) to the loss against DDR in group phase of 1974 (4 years) and from quarter-final loss against Austria (2-3) in 1978 to the final loss against Italy (1-3) in 1982.

Thank you for that, I am always a sucker for all kinds of stats.
But I disagree with one of the losses. In 1976 Germany didn't lose to Czechoslovakia, the match ended as a 2:2 draw. That's why there was a penalty shoot-out.
