Did anybody have an interdisciplinary major or minor? Hofstra University has a minor in Public Affairs with one required Political Science courses. The student must choose from one of these topics:

Communications Issues (includes courses in 3 departments)
Economic Issues (includes courses in 2 departments)
Environmental and Energy Issues (includes courses in 6 departments)
Health Issues (includes courses in 3 departments)
International Issues (includes courses in 7 departments)
Legal Issues (includes courses in 5 departments)
Racial Issues (includes courses in 5 departments)
Science and Technology Issues (includes courses in 2 departments)
Urban Issues (includes courses in 4 departments)
Women's Issues (includes courses in 4 departments)

I just thought of an idea for an interdisciplinary minor. Do you think this would be a good idea for a college to offer?

    Change and Progress
-Civil Rights Movement and history of prejudice
-Political changes from monarchy or dictatorship to democracy
-Sources of progress- government laws, court decisions, and individuals such as inventors
    -Industrial Revolution
    -Technological progress
-History of computers, the internet, smart phones, and other devices
-History of travel when airplanes were invented
-History of academic progress in fields such as Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, and natural sciences
-History of businesses, advertising, and communication with current or potential customers
-Resistance to progress such as resistance to school intergration and attacks on people peacefully advocating for civil rights
-Problems caused by change such as computer hacking

A minor at Hofstra normally requires six 3 credit courses. This hypothetical minor could require one course on each of two specific areas and time periods that had change and progress (two courses total), one course on academic history in a topic the student chooses, one course on recent technological progress, and two elective courses from a list. I am primarily concerned with the United States, but this hypothetical minor could require one of the courses to be about a foreign country or region.
