Great player, almost as good as Pirlo was.

 

at his peak, kaka was considered the best player in the world. you could never say that about pirlo.

To be fair, though, it's pretty rare for a non-attacker to be considered the best player in the world. Beckenbauer is the only one that comes to mind in my lifetime.

But I'm pretty old.

And yes, I know Maldini and Baresi were all-time greats but goals get the publicity.

I just think that there were a lot more guys who could do what Kaka did about as well than guys who could do what Pirlo did about as well, in their primes.
