I can't believe RB agreed to that...you just know those classy NYC fans are going to trash that stadium. Seriously, they couldn't find anywhere else to play, not even a college stadium or wherever they play their USOC games?
They have previously played up in Hartford, it's my guess is that Dandy Don more or less forced the issue.
CONCACAF likely had a say in the matter. Venues have to meet certain international standards to host international & continental region games. It's why Saprissa can't play CCL games at their home stadium anymore.

Liga MX president Enrique Bonilla has confirmed that promotion and relegation from and to the league have been suspended for five years, following a vote conducted during a video meeting of the 18 Liga MX club owners on Friday.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that the 18 current clubs voted that they can't be relegated, and that no one else can come in to their league? Either I'm misunderstanding, or that's awfully self-serving.

I am watching Austin vs. KC because it is a national game and my son and his wife are moving to Austin in two weeks. It bring me memories of our first season. Soich was possible back then. Now, we have a history. Some not so good but still a lot of good has happened. I hope the fans of Austin enjoy the ride. Except when they play the Union.
