I mean, except for Stefan Frei, yeah.

This bit from the announcement sounds eerily familiar.

AFTER A NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR ITS NEXT JERSEY FRONT PARTNER, SOUNDERS FC IS EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH LOCALLY-BASED ONLINE RETAILER ZULILY.

a lot of people seem upset... soccer fans are funny/not very business savvy. (not claiming to be an expert, and I'm guilty of it too sometimes, but the negative reaction to these things is eye-roll worthy sometimes)

As a Saints fan and a Union fan I must finally admit that all the torments I unleashed on my high school refs have come back to haunt me. That was some MLS level reffing at the end of the game yesterday.

10 bucks says there will be a conflict with the Fury's schedule and the Union wanting to play a USOC game at Franklin Field.

It'll be a fun trainwreck to watch. I wonder if they'll make it a full season and be able to face us in open cup...

I'm still not convinced Franklin is up to USOC standards. The Fury specifically needed waivers for NISA to get sanctioned.

People do realize that Franklin Field is only about 60 yards wide, right? It is likely narrower than Spartan Stadium where San Jose played for years (62 yards wide) and is narrower than Yankee Stadium is. And it is turf. Though a narrow, turf field with permanent football lines is exactly what I think of when I think USOC (much like I expect rugby lines when watching certain FA Cup games).

Ummm clearly Jay Sugarman would pay money for a temporary sod surface that goes over the track so we can obtain the appropriate dimensions... DUH.

As awesome as the location would be, I don't think it would be a good choice for the Union since the field is narrow AND it's on plastic grass...it's a non-standard track with a smaller radius on the curves at each end so the field would be even narrower than fields inside standard tracks. As much as we complain about Yankee Stadium for NYCFC, Franklin Field would probably be worse.

From Wikipedia: "The track in Franklin Field has a rarely used configuration where the 400 metre circumference is achieved in lane 5, rather than in lane one."

So much for the Union's version of tiki taka. Narrow field just negates all their technical and skilled players....

Look on the bright side ... Atlanta United lost by 2 goals this weekend, too. Hell, they were shut out as well. It's a "Pity" they lost and couldn't score.

Not sure if that is the bright side when you realize that DCU looked amazing in victory, as if they just picked right up from last year's successes.

Union just always seem to be playing catch-up, even when they make big moves. This Eastern Conference is going to be a bear.

Cincy are up 3 nil at home against Portland.

Are they planning to build a stadium? That rubber turf looks like crap.

Attendance looks abysmal for several teams. Houston and Chicago in particular were really low.
