I understand the re-brand. We all consider the league to be "minor" league, but they are trying to shed that image in place of being more professional. The HCI logo, palm trees, and even the game day atmosphere sometimes screamed minor league baseball. I think it's a futile attempt to unseat MLS, or even look like they are on the same page, but if that's what this league wants to do, I get it.
Should have put baseball in quotes, as it reminded me of things you'd see at a Reading Phillies game.
I'm not sure sure about that last part. USL's whole schtick right now is to be second fiddle to MLS, and I think they've found it to be a pretty cozy spot. It's NASL that is/was on some manic crusade.
MLS needs to fix the post season. It takes waaaay too long. Is it still happening? Who is even in it? When the hell is the last time they played? Every other league you can tune in when your team is out. MLS Feels like it has been over for months. Garbage.
The international break in the middle of them is the worst thing ever...how can they not schedule to avoid that?
I know Red Bull played a game. Beyond that I have no idea who else is in or when any of the game have occurred or will occur. MLS post-season is trash.
There have been some really good games and storylines.. I pay attention, but the break crushes absolutely all momentum... the two legged setup is pretty shitty too because the first game is usually boring bunker trash. Should just be one game knock out. Seattle v Houston and Columbus v Toronto for the final four.
