I hope in the future will come good players, not only veterans. Sure, James Keene it's a nice addition and he has only 28, but not enough

    aha,

Anyway, he showed his class even at 35. He scored two nice goals 1-2 months ago in the Europa League play-offs. One of them.

but he enjoyed his life too much. Otherwise, a great talent. If he was more disciplined...

Mutu is world class, irrespective of his off field issues Indian fans will be delighted to see him play alongside Trezeguet and Kostas Katsouranis .

    Following this with interest.

Wish someone would pick up the rights in the Middle East given the large Indian ex-pat population.

Is it safe to say that ISL is more like MLS than like Euro leagues in design (playoffs, drafts, etc) ? It sounds like it.

ISL is a big success, almost all clubs have around 30,000+ attendances. For next year, India
should have a first division and a second division:

    ISL:

    1 Atlético de Kolkata
    2 Chennaiyin FC
    3 Delhi Dynamos
    4 FC Goa
    5 Kerala Blasters
    6 Mumbai City
    7 NorthEast United
    8 Pune City
    9 Bengaluru FC
    10 Hyderabad FC

    I-League:

    1 Dempo
    2 East Bengal
    3 Mohun Bagan
    4 Mumbai FC
    5 Pune FC
    6 Royal Wahingdoh
    7 Salgaocar
    8 Shillong Lajong
    9 SC Goa
    10 Aizawl FC
    11 Bhawanipore
    12 Eagles FC
    13 Garhwal
    14 Green Valley
    15 Hindustan
    16 Kalighat MS
    17 Kenkre
    18 PIFA
    19 Royal Wahingdoh
    20 United Sikkim

I think that a 12 teams ( with also East Bengal and Mohun Bagan ) in the next ISL should be perfect !!

ISL clubs should be able to try to qualify for AFC Champions League, not I-League clubs...

Well, they'd need to at least have 14 clubs and promotion/relegation.

ISL is a fun league that at the end of it every goes away and the drat system kicks in again for next year...it's not a serious league to go into ASIAN competitions.

The biggest problem would be (re: playing in the AFC) the number of foreigners. They have 8 foreigners in each team, the AFC only allow 3 +1 (AFC player) in their competitions. I watched the first half of Kerala v Goa last night, and it was very fast paced with lots of movement. However, passing in the final third was abysmal and other than the international players most players were not of a high calibre (even some of the foreigners were pretty poor). Although it was exciting as most the Indian players weren't afraid to take on the man (even if they didn't really have much skill).

Hopefully though this competition can lead to a higher quality of players in India, and over time the number of foreigners can be decreased. Maybe then they could look at AFC competitions. ATM they wouldn't make it past the qualifying knock-out stage.

The crowd figures are very encouraging, so it may get more legitimacy sooner rather than later.

    Kerala Blasters 49,517
    Atlético de Kolkata 47,448
    NorthEast United 28,633

    Delhi Dynamos 20,909
    Chennaiyin 20,028
    FC Goa 17,186
    Pune City 7,797

Not bad, Kerala and Kolkata have higher average attendances than Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool...

Bengaluru and Hyderabad will probably be 9th and 10th team next year. Attendances are very good, except for Pune City...
