Ironically it is basically the approach corporates use so it does not surprise me that woody things using talent agents is the best approach
That’s hearsay. There’s so much directly contradictory information about who influenced what signings that I don’t think anybody actually knows, as I said.
The issue is middling clubs spend their budget on promising players They get to play with no pressure and acclimatise to the premier league then move on. Coming to a ‘bigger’ side adds more pressure I’m of the opinion you can find the occasional gem but imo the best practice is get them extremely young or buy proven quality

I was under the impression both Torreira & Guendouzi were on Sven. And if so, that makes him pretty successful right there in my book.
We have to be careful we don't fall for survivor bias here Arsenal is running Stat DNA analysis on 100s if not 1000s of players. We sign a very small % of those. As many as half of transfers are not a success. Mustafi is one of failed transfers. tldr; Stat DNA will like a lot of players, some of whom won't work out
Torreira, maybe. Duezy was Emery. Emery scouted him when at PSG and Duezy came to Arsenal because of Emery.
This was my impression as well for both players. There were rumors ~ a month ago that Torreira was still unsettled, and Sven leaving could be a partial to major explanation of that. The reports I read seemed to indicate it was more the climate of London than anything else, but that could be the dimplomatic answer to not point fingers and anyone in club management.
A complete joke of an offer. Considering what is on the line for each team, they would need to offer us such a ludicrous sum, they could buy 2 other top strikers with that money instead.
Seeing reports that we matched Spurs offer for Saliba and he chose to sign with us instead of them. Also seems to be a good bit of positive feeling sthat we land Everton & Ceballos.
Now seeing reports that Arsenal sources are denying any attempts to sign Everton. Saliba is reportedly flying in for a medical. Rumors that a Dani Ceballos loan deal will be announced next week. The loan is said to not include a buy option. We are being linked with a move Juventus ST/W Moise Kean who's current deal expires next summer. Claims out of Italy that Mauro icardi rejected an Inter attempted PEA/Icardi swap deal.
Less than three weeks left. Palace don't appear to be weakening on Zaha and the latest rumor on Soares is that Arsenal were never really in for him. Assuming Arsenal's confidence in getting the Ceballos and Tierney deals across the line is justified, will that be enough? Anything else will push them over budget, unless they sell and there are almost no rumors about interest in any of the players Arsenal are willing to sell, except Kos. Since Tierney, as a Scot doesn't count as home grown, they would also, by my count, bring the number of non homegrown players to 16, again until someone is sold.
Arsenal's whole front office is in the US, so while it is relatively easy for them to talk to Madrid about Ceballos, they're probably waiting until they get back to England to talk to Celtic about Tierney and we all know they are only capable of focusing on one transfer at a time.
