"Awards are stupid" should be attached to Ryan Giggs' PFA player of the year award

He’s a good prospect but 55 mill is a lot

He is very athletic and good defensively and provided some
Assists last year so in the modern game, he’s probably worth it as fullbacks are becoming more important

Tierney would be a great buy, we desperately need an athletic lb who can defend and cross because we wasted so
Many overlaps last year as kol is shit

Looks like we are shopping Nketiah for a loan to get him more PT and I presume let one of the other academy guys show what they have as a backup.

I think Tierney's stats, especially the defensive ones, need to be discounted because of the league he plays in.

Agree to some extent; that’s why he might cost £20m and Wan-Bissaka might be £60m.

I think he’d be a really good buy, though.

    Latest Links/News/Rumors...

    - Saliba is rumored to have agreed a 5 yr deal with Arsenal but his current club St. Étienne is said to be demanding 30m euro and to have him loaned back for the 2019/20 season. The loan back is thought to be a sticking point for the Gunners as their budget may not allow for them to spend 30m on a player that can not provide atleast some depth next season.

    - Arsenal is linked to 18yo Hungarian CM/AM Dominik Szoboszlai, whom Emery feels could replace Ramsey. Deal is reported to be 15m euro.

    - Arsenal are said to be pursuing Celtic LB Keirin Tierney and may dangle a loanee or two in order to provide more incentive for the deal.

    - There are claims that we are planning to pursue W Lucas Vazquez as it is believed Zidane will make him available as soon as Hazard is finalized.

    - West Brom & Celtic are said to be interested in Carl Jenkinson.

    - Xhaka to Atletico rumors as a replacement for Rodri may be dead. There is a good bit of smoke that Atletico has signed Marcos Llorente from Madrid as Rodri's replacement instead.

    - Arsenal target Alex Claude-Maurice appears to headed to Germany

    - Arsenal are said to be shopping for loan deals for RB Jordi Osui-Tutu, CM/AM Ben Sheaf, ST Eddie Nketiah & AM/W Emile Smith-Rowe

    We’re screwed.
    Inter is signing Barella
    A. Madrid signed Llorente

There go our buyers for Xhaka

I’m sooooo jealous of Inter getting Barella

Xhaka is better than most people here think. His contribution to the attack is underrated.

But his defensive lapses/short-comings are horrendous and contribute significantly to our team defensive issues.

Absolutely. It's interesting because he's very good at some things that are important and very bad at other things that are important. I guess by this point there's not a lot of hope to coach the bad stuff out of his repertoire.

Are we sure he's an attacking mid? I looked at him on you tube and about 70% of his highlights were long passes or shots from outside the box. He looked more like a Xhaka replacement than a Ramsey replacement.

"Elite" at 1 single thing and absolutely average at everything else
    This is where stats fail

Latest rumor is Atletico Madrid planning to dangle Vitolo (played for Emery at Sevilla) in front of us to convince us to part with Bellerin.

Thank you, chjoak, for providing us a one-stop outlet for rumors. Makes it easier to at least guage the Arsenal-related discussion.

NP. Read a good deal about transfers & signings. It all fascinates me. Very different than how the various leagues are run in the US. Plus I don't really have anyone here in TX to discuss with so I like to get some discussion going so I can learn more.
