Hark when the night is falling Hear! hear the pipes are calling, Loudly and proudly calling, Down thro' the glen. There where the hills are sleeping, Now feel the blood a-leaping, High as the spirits of the old Highland men. Towering in gallant fame, Scotland my mountain hame, High may your proud standards gloriously wave, Land of my high endeavour, Land of the shining river, Land of my heart for ever, Scotland the brave.
Re: Good team on paper a dont know if yous know this but Scotland on paper should be ranked about 25th in the world. we have good players. If wae get motivated the rite wae and organise we could beat anyone.LOOK AT GREECE FFS!.lets no despair and get behind the Country. MON THE FU**IN SCOTS! ************ THE ENGLISH SCUM!
We can but hope. "For so long as a hundred of us are left alive, we will yield in no least way to English dominion. We fight not for glory nor for wealth nor honours; but only and alone we fight for freedom, which no good man surrenders but with his life."
Their nationalism is great, along with the countryside. However you've obviously not stumbled on the horrid Glasgow yet Mel......
Oh no I have...great curry. Actually, I've enjoyed Stirling/Bridge of Allan, Edinburgh, St. Andrews, and haven't even really gone north for any significant time yet...and I love it. Now, I grew up in South New Jersey (Burlington area) and used to live, post college, in Harlem, Dallas, Miami Beach, Rockville (just outside D.C.), and just outside NYC (Teaneck), so I'm just about done with uber-urban anything, uber-commercial anything, uber-SUV anything, and a general lack of green. IOW, I just look around me, and the contrast to that previous experience is a living, palpable one. Your right in that Glasgow has been my least favorite, but even Glasgow wasn't bad; like I said, great curry...
Curry!!! the Scots have curry!!... Try Brick Lane Mel, it's a real curry street/treat, or the Curry Mile in Rusholme, Manchester....... Fair enough on the reasons you like Scotland, I'd see the weather as a big con, but then I don't know what South New Jersey is like year round. I guess I feel similar, but I'm going away from Westernisation and all the crap that goes with it - either Harare, Zimbabwe or Cape Town, South Africa for me. The way of life, the people, the food and the weather are just about perfect. No Mugabe jibes needed........
The one thing I miss about the curries back home is Chicken Pakora. Mr Singhs in Glasgow makes the best curries! Would you recommend any particular place on Brick Lane? I think I may have chosen poorly most of the time. I miss Glasgow so much! It is far superior to Edinburgh.
Complete and utter ****************. Just accept that the captital is the best. Everyone knows it. Weegie scum.
There are quite a few good young prospects kicking about. We can only hope that they step up and continue their development (and don't develop Judas syndrome). I don't think that we are as bad as the rankings state, but we really need to pull ourselves together.
I had a curry on Brick Lane on Saturday night. I think it was good! There was a lot of booze involved!
