Not sure of who their source is, so the report should be taken with a grain of salt (time of the year too, I suppose). But Fulltime Devils are saying that Ole is looking at a RB, 2 CMs and a RW. Would love to know also the original source and would be inclined to believe it's BS, but then again I guess it all depends on what will made available to Ole also.
We need De Ligt end-of. In addition to CB that nails down the captain / leadership role for the next decade+ too - which in many ways is an even greater need for this team and manager. Would get Alderweireld too given he will be “cheap” / easy given contract. In Alderweireld, De Ligt and Lindelof you can go back 3 against top teams or all are good enough on the ball that in some other games one could step further forward into the #6 position (all would be better there than Static Matic). Would need to ship a couple of our current CB duds though.
Bailly hasnt shown that he can handle that. The guys is always hurt and his form swings drastically. At his peak, he's easily our best defender. But we can't go into the season expecting him to be our starter. Let him beat out Lindelof for our 2nd choice CB.
Bailly is short fuse there is a wild tackle worthy of red in him eveey other game.. He cant be trusted but is betyer than smalling jones .
I loved Ole the player, but did this idiot just say that we had the right attitude and created a lot of chances today? Wtf was he watching?
At the end of year award ceremony, Ole has outlined once again what appears to be our transfer strategy going forward. “It’s been a rollercoaster. We had a fantastic start, everyone just enjoyed, when you win games, you’re confident, you smile, you start to enjoy yourself. Then we got a few injuries and it’s been ups and downs the last two months but that’s football, that’s human beings, it’s not like Football Manager. You’ve got to deal with different stuff outside football as well. There have been highs and lows but I’ve enjoyed it, it’s a great challenge, I’ve not gone to bed one night worrying about what’s gonna happen because I love coming in, the boys are fantastic. “It’s a great challenge but it’s a great responsibility as well because this club is huge. The media and everyone’s criticising us as soon as they’ve got a chance. We’ve just got to stick together, we’ve been through difficult periods before but we’ve got to come through it as a team. But we’ve got to do it together. We’ve got to recruit smart, keep blooding the youngsters and we'll be fine." https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...manchester-united-player-year-awards-16253100
I would pick apart the quoted bit but what's the point? If he is not worried going to bed about these shitheads then why the living fcuk should I?
Phelan announced as assistant to Ole on 3 year contract - so not the DoF then. We are delighted to announce the appointment of @Mike_Phelan_1 as our new assistant manager. #MUFC— Manchester United (@ManUtd) May 10, 2019
So we found out officially who will be caretaker manager next season when Ole gets sacked in March. Awesome.
I hope the DoF is still on the table. If they think having only these in there without a DoF is a great idea, that is a mistake.
Jose and LVG did better with worse talent. Ole looks lost already. This isn't his fault, but he's not the guy to rebuild us and turn this around. Hiring him is a massive, massive mistake and our current results are proof of that.
Ole may or won't be successful when it's all said and done. That being said, way too early to just give up on him yet. Get him the support he needs both on the pitch and at exec level, let's start fresh with a full preseason. We'll see how things shape up after that and not before...
But Ole doesn’t seem confident himself. And he doesn’t seem confident in the players. It’s worrisome that the players mostly run on confidence. It is wholly worse that the manager does as well. When they were flying high, so was he. Now he asks to temper expectations.
I was onboard - would only be a problem if results went over a cliff .... but they have gone over a cliff. You find out about players and managers when times are hard, that there is no fight in many of these players we had seen before in previous times under previous managers. That there is no fight in Ole or ability to motivate fight in any of these players is a huge concern going forward. Things are massively stacked against him too with the guy he is having to deal with above being a six-year failure too. There are clearly some dressing room issues too with the usual suspects.
As bad as that ending was (and it was bad and concerning for the future) Ole still did better overall than Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. http://solskjaertabellen.com Pos Teams............. P. What Ole is looking for in his summer signings. https://www.skysports.com/football/...s-signings-must-fit-manchester-united-culture
Ole appears determined to improve the team's fitness and conditioning. http://www.espn.com/soccer/manchest...es-man-united-face-early-start-to-fix-fitness One of the main reason I do not us to have to deal with an EL qualifier at the end of July. Really couldn't care less about that tournament, but the main point remains that we need this preseason, more than ever. It's Ole's first and his work is cut out as it is and the last thing we'll need is for it to be cut short because we have some qualification game for the EL to worry about. Let City win their domestic treble: as I've always maintained, what happens to us is what matters first and foremost. And having a full preseason to be as ready as possible for the coming season is what we need and a must for us.
