Your point is excellently made. The best thing to do is not notice it at all. I didn't anticipate it. I was looking over the table and the numbers jumped out at me and I smiled. North London Passover is very good, though.
l'Arse just fell behind in their Europa semi. Aside from the schadenfreude, them failing to progress would help us with regard to CL seeding next year.
And they lost. No farewell trophy for Wenger/no CL for them next year. According to someone on reddit, it needs 2 more higher-coefficient teams to not make it, for us to be in pot 2. https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/8gh5za/champions_league_pot_watch_things_are_looking_good/
I know we've been the better team for three years now; but this is our first unequivocally superior season to them in over 20 years. I don't mean to come off small, but I'm more than a little pleased for today's result. I had no difficulty envisioning them lifting that trophy.
Relief! I would have been thoroughly disgusted if Wenger Inc. had gone on to lift the trophy. And I am sick of al these journos feeling sorry for him because he has been pushed out of the club. Well it was his own fault. He could have left on his own terms but cynically manipulated the board to cling to power. What goes around, comes around, even for Arsène Whinger. The only negative for us is that he won't be there next year.
In general, the big clubs who have lost their legendary managers seem to take several years to recover form. Arsenal are several years away from returning to form, IMO. Also, IMO, it's no guarantee that ManU and Liverpool have shown evidence that watchers can be confident of them being consistent top 4 contenders.
don't worry, nick. we can still balls it up badly enough that even being better than Arsenal won't much help.
Man U I think have a better foundation with Pogba and Sanchez to build around, plus the funds to buy. Liverpool is a bit more iffy, and have showing a willingness to sell a key player, even if it is for insane money. That said, they do have a good attacking foundation. And if they ever get themselves a top level 'keeper... Well, that was before WBA decided to win a few matches. Believe.
Well I was mildly rooting against Liverpool, thanks to the implications for our CL seeding, and some rather silly over-reaction to the 2-2 between us from some of their fans this year. (On other sites I should add... the BS scousers seem quite a good bunch). But I have to say, Sergio Ramos is a piece of s***.
On the list of teams I loath, Real ranks into the realm of hate, along with AC Milan. Both above Arsenal. I am happy for Bale, though. What a fantastic goal.
The only thing that matters is we go into Pot 2. And the look on Klopp's face was priceless, but it was him who made a big song and dance about how Karius was the 2nd coming of Ray Clemence.
everybody saying ramos is a villain, but that angle completely changes the affair: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ts-Mo-Salah-one-locked-arms-Sergio-Ramos.html
I saw that and saw that Salah initiated. But Ramos seemed to yank at his arm, or hold it in place, as they were going down.
