I've been off all week, and could've watched this ... but this was the afternoon I decided to start cleaning my house (a more massive undertaking that any of you could imagine. I really wish I'd tuned in now.
He's had a bad week. Might be looking for a baby seal to kill. And this is starting to look more and more like Wegner's last season.
Not sure that's a good thing or bad Tottenham-wise. I don't think they'll have the massive drop off Man U did when Ferguson left.
Not going to crow too much, since they are still in the CL... until the return leg anyway. Wenger leaving will be disruption, and any disruption is good.
Not a drop off like Man U, but a drop definitely. Like Fergie, Wegner has been there for years, and the system from top to bottom is his. A new manger will disrupt that system and it will take a bit to get it sorted out.
I would just like to note, somewhere, that at brunch on Sunday, I saw a father daughter together. She was rightly wearing a Spurs scarf. And for some God-forsaken hell, she had to sit with her father who was sporting a Newcastle jacket. Gave her a "COYS" as I left.
Newcastle fan in Wisconsin? Bizarre. Strangest thing I saw was a Norwich City jersey in suburban PA. It was at an Ikea, though, so maybe it was all the yellow.
There is quite a healthy soccer supporting community around here. I've seen between 12 and 15 of the 20 EPL teams, not to mention quite a few Italian, Spanish, and a few German teams (yes, those are mostly the big names, but not always). Of course, I think this is an effect of the proximity to Chicago.
only problem is they get beat bad enough, they may replace Wenger too soon they do seem to be having a complete meltdown
The best. Oh and Piers thinks he'd do a better job as manager. I would contribute to that crowd funding effort. It would be glorious.
that was loads of fun; but the meltdown (oh, and they are melting down in N5 [or is it N7 now?]) is a bit over the top, to my thinking. ok, they capitulated after the penalty, as a fan* that hurts. but they were making a fist of it to that point. They are capable of playing, even if they stopped doing so after conceding today. If this is another typical Arsenal Spring season - which is what their's are whining about - then it'll probably mean a strong finish and the FA Cup. ... Damn, it's not easy being me. I really did enjoy today, though. Honest. *of theirs.
maybe they did play well before the red card, but even a man down a team shouldn't concede 4 goals in 10 minutes, IMO
