Chandler and Frankfurt hold onto a very tight 1-0 win. Chandler goes 90 with an assist and a good performance
He's having a good season, and its mostly going unnoticed by a lot of us. He hasn't really played that great with the USMNT so far in his career. Is he one of those Kljestan types that is talented enough for the USMNT but can never translate his club form to the international level?
I thought he did under BB's tenure. There was about a season and a half where he lost his mojo. Looks like he found it again, so far.
Doesn't he play mostly at left back for the US team? Not really his position. He never plays there at club level, and he's right footed. Can't expect too much then.
He's NOT a left back. he doesnt really have a good left foot. Fab at right back and Chandler at lb...is mindnumbingly dumb.
Yeah, and I think thats pretty strange. Think he definitely plays his best at RB. Looks a step behind the game most of the time at LB because he seems to still be learning the position. Klinsmann also does a similar thing with Fabian Johnson. Most USMNT fans recognize Fabian Johnson as a LB. All of a sudden one day Klinsmann tried him out at RB and then his club team started doing the same thing. Now he's seemed to transition more from LB to RB, and it makes no sense. I think he's naturally left footed, but he's playing RB. He was pretty good at LB and its rare to find a good LB. Moving him to RB and causing problems for us at LB is a decision I didn't really understand, especially considering we have other good options at RB.
Maybe, I guess its just down to personal preference. For example, Kicker has Brooks with a much better average score than Chandler, but some view Brooks as having a bad season and Chandler as having a good season. I don't think there is a clear candidate this season. Last season Johannsson and Howard seemed to be the two clear candidates because they had great seasons. No one's really having a great season this season.
Good, but I wouldn't consider any of them great. I consider great to be one of the best in the league at their position, something Howard and Johannsson were last season.
Even club wise, I don't think we had any abroad that was a team's top (best) player. In MLS probably.
I think Johannsson is the best player on his team, but the constant injuries have really stopped him this season. When he's on the field, he's still been producing goals. Maybe Guzan at Aston Villa since their whole team sucks, and he's still had a good season by his standards. Brooks probably isn't too far off of being the best player on Hertha Berlin, and is probably the most talented with the highest potential future transfer fee. Same for Rubin at Utrecht. Besides that, I probably agree.
Brooks has a good case, but he's been far more inconsistent than Chandler. TC (not a player I particularly like with the NT) has been always at least decent for Frankfurt this season.
