I'm going to Frankfurt and I'll be Rightback: Timmy Chandler at Eintracht Frankfurt

lets not pretend JK, arena, sarachan, and ggg are some kind of murderers´row of managers....

maybe chandler always looks good for club is because he is being put in a situation to succeed there...whereas with the USMNT he hasn´t been...?

i still remember the first time i saw chandler under bob bradley for usmnt and he was the best player on the field....by far....and maybe i give that memory too much weight....but none of the other option for USMNT have EVER looked that good imo (except fabian johnson whom i would aslo incldue as well over current players)

*besides we arent getting yedlin and dest...we are also getting ream and lovitz robinson et al (plus yedlin robinson and dest have both been burned and lackadaiscail - especially yedlin in recent outings....yedlin been downright poor in many a recent usmnt game

Losing to The Goats at home is bad, man. Really, really bad.

 

Losing at home by 2 after having a 2-0 lead is even worse.

 

Chandler is a pretty interesting player. He doesn't have elite speed and has a really odd gait to boot.... but he made some really great hustle plays in yesterday's game that could have resulted in goals. He crosses very well and seems pretty clever w/ his thru balls and connections. He also has one of the best throw-ins that I have ever seen near the end line. Weston is sometimes asked to throw that long ball into the box and that is great... but it is a long, high, looping kind of throw. Chandler throws a more direct long ball and he does it with accuracy. He is consistently able to throw it just over one line of defenders right at the feet of his teammate being covered in the box. Again, his lack of elite pace negates some of his positives... but I think he has played pretty well the last two games.

 

But, but, but he had a terrible game six years ago.

 

If he can get a run of games, he's definitely in the conversation and has at this point what I'd consider to be a B+ level of talent in our pool at his position. That's a big if for him though, as he seems to struggle to stay fit and when fit struggles to stay focused

 

Chandler hasn't played for the US since 2016. Is there any indication he even wants to be a part of the team?

He has been very good in his recent 2 starts. he was their best player against Schalke when Wes got injured and he was good in yesterday's match. In both matches he played RWB which is his best position.

Unfortunately both matches were losses. Frankfurt is in a bit of a slide.

Yeah... they waste a ton of chances. That hustle play Chandler made on the edge to spring Kamada (I think) for a one-on-one with the keeper should have been put home... but this last game was weird. Frankfurt looked firmly in control for the first half or so and then just fell apart. The left side of the D in particular looked very vulnerable.

 

Start a petition, gather 50,000 signatures, and then maybe Egg will give it some consideration. Maybe.

Chandler with his 3rd start in a row. Frankfurt switched to a 4-4-1-1, Chandler is playing RB and DaCosta who Chandler replaced at RWB in the prior 2 matches is playing RW so they are on the field together!

 

and 3rd consecutive loss as they go down 2-1 to worst team in league Paderborn. Team isn't playing well anywhere.

 

Winless in their last 7 (since their big Bayern win)

 

I feel ya, but Chandler is a right back and stupid Lovitz a left back.
