hmmm seems that he leaned into that contact as well. But i digress he will be made the villain even though I have no idea who he is.

He was fine at it, does kind of have the size. It just doesn't play to his strengths. That being said, clearly our new CB pairing should be Chandler and McKennie.

    Started in friendly:

    Looks like he went 90:

Wiedwald (46. Zimmermann) - Durm, Hasebe, Otto, Chandler - da Costa, Kohr (62. Cetin), Torró, Finger (62. de Guzman) - Cakar - Molenaar (62. Zorn).

Abraham was suspended for the final 6 league matches of 2019. I'll be curious to see who they replace him with at center back.

if you believe some lineups. Chandler was playing LB the whole game. da Costa was playing RW and Durm RB.

Abraham's suspension (does not include EL) doesn't change that they still have Hasabe, Hinteregger, N'Dicka, Falette, Toure (CB/RB seems like he could be fit again before next matchday).

I think Hütter just had it with Chandler getting injured and is going to use him mainly for Pokal games (and friendlies). Can't depend on a guy who's broken half of the time.

Brooks is probably also close to getting his coach fed up.

Being healthy is a skill. A skill Chandler lacks.

Went the full 90, WhoScored has him tied for the top rated Frankfurt player. Completed 85% of his 39 attempted passes (2 key passes, 2nd highest on the team), went 4/4 on tackles, had 4 clearances, 1 block, 1 interception, and led the team in aerial duels won with 5.

Not sure if he passed the eye test, but on paper he had a good day.

edit: also had the Captain's armband today!

Chandler was overall Frankfurt's most effective player. Whipped in a pinpoint cross in the first half that should have been put in the back of the net.

Been a long time for him. Impressive they gave him the arm band in first start for quite some time. Definitely a player that you call in for a Euro friendly.

He's at least as good as DaCosta and Durm. The reason he's been benched is because he's injured so often, the coach seemed to decide to build team chemistry with the guys more likely to be healthy.

But for club, Chandler has always been good.

I wouldn't want him near the NT though.

If a player is in a totally different class than everyone else, then you can deal with attitude issues and a lack of commitment. Like, if Neymar or Mbappe or Messi were American and half-assed it with the national team, you'd deal with it.

Chandler is not that much better (if at all) than Yedlin or a burgeoning Dest, so there's no reason to put up with his shit internationally.

I was wrong, he was got the armband after Rode got subbed off. Still neat to see, but less of a deal.

Makes sense. He has played so little of late that it would seem extreme to get the armband.
