With Zidane, the team will get a moral boost. That's for sure. Thing is, it's the same players at the end of the day and a lot of it came from the players poor performance. I'm sure we will see plenty of rotation and him tweaking the current team to the best of his ability. Having said that, he knows (and it's almost sure that Flo gave him permission) that other players will have to come replace the current crop. I have faith in Zidane if he has 100% control of this rebuild.

He didn't just want playing time he wanted to start in order to secure his France XI WC position. His father didn't want him sitting behind Cristiano and two of the President's favorites. How can you possibly blame him?
This is absolutely a deal I'm glad the club didn't make. No way some 18 y/o with six months experience and a handful of CL appearances should be on those kind of wages, transfer fee, and the kind of status it would entitle him in the club. I'm sure Zidane wasn't comfortable with the transfer and the effect it would have on a locker room full of players that just did the first ever CL repeat and did while completing it with a league double. I'm thinking Flo was itching to pull the trigger, hence an offer was made but Zidane was non committal. I also think Zidane was concerned for Mbappe and the French team and just considered the above too much of a gamble to put on his shoulders. Just look at PSG today and imagine that's Madrid making the headlines for splashing the cash on a kid that didn't deliver.
I see your point here... but let's not kid ourselves. Mbappe is the real deal. It's just too bad he's playing in such a lame team. Mbappe would flourish in Real Madrid.
Im 100% convinced he woukld deliver, even more than we would hope. Just as I am 100% convinced that vinicius will also deliver, which is why i hope Hazard tranfer doesnt mess with his development... but Im of the idea that both can be in this team. Obviously, I think Mbappe has a higher cieling than Vinicius... but both can flourish here...
