Paul Pogba's career: Serie A 🏆🏆🏆🏆Coppa Italia 🏆🏆Supercoppa 🏆🏆Europa League 🏆League Cup 🏆He's only 24. 😳 pic.twitter.com/ME9QjhTp5U— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) May 24, 2017
He's played in two European finals and one the lesser. Definitely buying his jersey this summer. I was surprised at the number of Ibrahimovic jersey's (not a single Pogba jersey) i saw in the bar yesterday. We made a ton of money off him. I even saw a Tevez jersey.
the new one or the old? i like the new cup font even if it is a throw back. i have this year's home jersey with Pogba 6 (cup font). i'll probably get a Europa League Winners shirt maybe with Ibrahimovic 9 since it looks like he will be gone. none of my future jerseys will have the new PL font though. utter trash
The fact that he's Muslim to begin with has everything to do with it, first and foremost. It's a pilgrimage for him, he's not just being a tourist...
He was born in France but like many French guys, he's got solid roots in Africa. His parents are from Guinea.
Well done, Ashur. It's well known that a westerner can't just walk into Mecca. That we have a poster here who actually thinks non-Muslims can just check it out boggles the mind.
Pogba's charm and personality is enough to win anyone over. www.espnfc.com/blog/marcotti-musings/62/post/3133732/paul-pogba-is-impossible-to-dislike-even-if-you-cannot-stand-man-united
http://statsbomb.com/2017/03/tough-times-for-paul-pogba/ Statistical analysis of Pogba's first season back. As I've been saying, he had an elite year. His production has gone down, but the underlying data is excellent.
Four games, two goals - including the all-important opener in Stockholm.Congratulations to our Player of the Month for May, @PaulPogba! 👏 pic.twitter.com/CAW7mQWVMS— Manchester United (@ManUtd) June 2, 2017
Pogba has been named May United Player of the Month. Capping off what has been a good first year with United, with an excellent month. There's been some up and downs as expected, but when he was good, his class and what differentiates him from the rest, came to fore. In his second season, especially with the addition of a genuine 6, which should free him up even more offensively, I expect him to be even better, with less of the misfortune he's encountered this season. Double digits in both goals and assists are expected. And as far as this season is concerned, he gets a B/B+ for his performance.
Pogba a future United captain, according to Robbo www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10902361/paul-pogba-could-be-a-future-man-utd-captain-believes-bryan-robson
on the other hand, it is impossible to like Marcotti whether he writes nice thing about your club or not
I don't believe Marcotti is the hack he's made out to be here by some. Not my favorite either, but I don't mind his writing and I trust him as a knowledgeable source, for the most part. There are quite of few, so called big time football reporters and writers who are far worse than he is IMO...
Agreed. Marcotti is a hack but a hack who gets it right in this case. My objection to this piece, which is 100% spot on, is that it focus or Pogba's "star power" is cringe-inducing. This is something I'd expect to read in Vogue or Glamour -- not that I subscribe to either -- than in a serious football/soccer blog. ESPNFC aspires to be a place where one can find serious football/soccer analysis and a piece like this does not help realize that aspiration. At least not for me.
Pogba got off to a rocky start, due to the unrealistic expectations that resulted from his high price. Also, it took awhile to determine his best role in the team, as well as setting the surrounding players. Late in the season, his quality really shone through, especially apparent in the last games where he played only half of a match. Looking forward to seeing his play next year.
Pogba's data was elite throughout the season. It was difficult to lock down what stats to look into because of his skill set, but once you knew where to look, the impact he was having n games was easy to see.
He's definitely captain material, but I think he needs to marinate a bit before he's given the armband. I love the fun-loving, silly side of PP but I'd like our captain to be a little more serious. Not taking selfies in the locker room. Give it to Herrera for now and Pogba can take over in a couple years.
