I feel like if we get out of the group then the sky is the limit. I am talking semi-final berth. What do you think? Yes, I am aware that I misspelled 'advance'....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the second-place team in our group faces the first-place team in Brazil's group. If I'm remembering that correctly--well, that's about as far as we get. We're not finishing above Germany; Brazil will win their group; we're not beating Brazil in the WC in Brazil.
If the US comes in 2nd they would play the winner from Group H: Belgium, Russia, South Korea, or Algeria. Get past that and it would likely be Argentina in the quarters.
That was true for World Cup 2006. @bigredfutbol This isn't a national team forum. This topic should be moved.
Technically, you're correct. But they have plenty of threads already underway. I'll let this one die a natural death. This forum is hardly overcrowded--and you can argue that US progress in the WC influences the progress of the sport in general.
Won't get out of the group. And if we do I don't think we can beat Belgium, Russia or South Korea. How many university boys do those countries have on their teams? Answer: none
If we get out of our group I think we can make the semifinal. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Many feel as you do and I admit it would not be farfetched to make it out then bust out in R16.
