Could never call a sport "soccer". I think it cheapens the game and it was a nickname used for those affiliated with FIFA. Sometimes America just has to "jump on board" with the rest of the world instead of invent ( or re-invent ) everything. Calling a scrimmage game in America where one of the team kicks the ball "football" and a sport where all kick the ball soccer? That is indeed a ball of confusion
I always liked simply, Boston F.C, or F.C Boston, our badges would be Bristol rovers ( esque and have a black silhouette pointing a musket to the right, have Boston Football Club written on the sides and in the middle having 6 red and white vertical stripes and "The Revs" below the badge in ribbon.
better than the crayola nonsense created in a boardroom by people who wanted to give the "feel" of a "revolution"
If I had to dream up a team for Boston/New England, heres what I'd do(all my opinion) Name: Boston Revolution Colors:Red, Blue, and White Badge: SoccerSpecificSentra's design Kits: Home: Red and White vertical stripes, Blue shorts, and blue/white hoop socks Away: White with Red/Blue diagnol sash, red shorts, and blue socks 3rd: Green/White stripes, white shorts, and green socks Owner: John Henry Fan Song: YNWA
Too much of an identity crisis with that uniform, trying to incorporate too many designs - why don't we just go with the rest of the colors of the rainbow while we're at it Besides, YNWA would never work here, too many revs fans are also Bitter supporters.
We should still have a song we sing before kickoff though(other than the national anthem), maybe dirty water, or something of like that?
Nah something original - not Sweet Caroline, Dirty Water or For Boston. Let's do something more unique.
I think Orlando City is purple, and they are most likely going to join within the next few years, so orange it is
Color Combos not used in MLS ...yet Black&White? Navy Blue&White(stripes)? Purple&White? Purple&Yellow? Green&Black?
I'm apparently not very political because I couldn't tell you which local party or politician is affiliated with orange.
The "I hate the Irish and they should consider themselves lucky enough to be ruled by the British" Party
Quoting one of my color combos above, why not have a black/white team? I know they might sound bland, but I think it will stand out among the Blue and Red in the mls. And.. local populations: Irish(???), Italians(Juventus are black/white), Brazilians(Corinthians), these populations could relate to the colors and possibly come to the games and fill up seats
Ya. I think that Houston Dynamo is the only team to have orange. Also, Boston already have red, white, black, yellow, silver, green, and blue colors for our sports teams. We don't have orange or purple or brown.. Well that is not going to be the deciding factor for this team's colors, but looking in the overall sense...it could work?
