Ignoring all the intangibles (such as Aviles expressing that he´d prefer to play for Colombia), yes- I´d take him over Gio for 2018. Sure he´ll be 31 next year but the WC is next year as well. We´ll need players in their peak and all the help we can get with Osorio, as well as Gio/Jona/Vela in MLS form. After watching the Gold Cup fiasco, it´s clear we don´t have the depth we thought we did. Quiñones is a good option for the future but Hurtado is in his peak now. Not like it matters, Quiñones is Europe-bound and Colombia would never let him leave.
