If Avilés Hurtado can play for Mexico, would you take him in place of Gio for Russia 2018?

Seriously?. You opened a thread just for this? o_O He said multiple times he prefers Colombia over México.... Moreover, he's overrated AF, and he'll be 31 next year... Has he won anything relevant in his career?. Nope... Even Riascos won Xolos a Championship... Aviles always choked in liguilla.... I'd much rather take players like Antuna, Gael Sandoval, Pizarro, that are going to be important in the future... If you check out all the naturalizados for México, not a single of them as made a difference for El Tri... None... And if we're talking about calling naturalizados, might as well call the youngsters like Julian Quiñones, who might have actually have a future for us in case we were to even call him...

    Agree...
Err... Did you even watch him in the past 2 liguillas?. He choked big time...

Who said Pizarro wouldn't already be on that roster? The question was a player for player swap on the roster...

Why would you want to waste a spot on a 31 year old?. o_OThat's my inquiry... Might as well take 20 year old Quiñones who actually has a future... Quiñones se mea en Avilés...

Ignoring all the intangibles (such as Aviles expressing that he´d prefer to play for Colombia), yes- I´d take him over Gio for 2018.

Sure he´ll be 31 next year but the WC is next year as well. We´ll need players in their peak and all the help we can get with Osorio, as well as Gio/Jona/Vela in MLS form. After watching the Gold Cup fiasco, it´s clear we don´t have the depth we thought we did. Quiñones is a good option for the future but Hurtado is in his peak now. Not like it matters, Quiñones is Europe-bound and Colombia would never let him leave.

He's on his best peak cuz he scored a brace against a Xolols?. Lol. What about the sitters he misses every week?. He's inconsistent... He chokes against big teams.... Vean los pinches partidos... No hizo ni madre en la liguilla... Y'all crack me up... He's not enough for Colombia, why should México call him if we're his 2nd choice?. Fack him...

No one said he wasn´t a merc...

The question was him or Gio and Gio has become a sorry excuse for a footballer.

Aviles Hurtado ain't a better choice. If I'm bringing in a non-Mexican to the NT, it has to be Gignac level.

My argument is not solely that he's a merc...

Fair enough... What about none of the two?.

You guys are already making a judgement that he should be in the squad when we're like a year away from the World Cup... A lot of things can happen in that span of time. What if Laínez has a breakthrough next semester?. Honestly, we have plenty of options in that position, we're more than well covered...

    Let's see...

    Chucky Lozano
    Tecatito
    Pizarro
    Aquino

Others options based on Osorio's call ups....

    Jürgen Damm
    Gallardo (that's his natural position)
    Elías...
    Sepúlveda

Others that could also be called up depending on how well they do until the start of the World Cup...

    Laínez
    Gael Sandoval
    Chofis
    Brizula

Despite the fact that Hurtado has made it perfectly clear he'd pick Colombia over Mexico, at this moment I would take him over Gio
