How about neither and pick somebody worth our time? This is quite the bullshit thread [emoji58] [emoji58] [emoji58]
Meh, if he is eligible and Colombia never calls I could see him accepting Osorio's call up, it is hard to say no to a WC.
Hmmm https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/foreign-players-from-liga-mx-who-could-play-for-mexico.2009066/
I've never had issues with naturalized players on the team and most of the arguments against it are either xenophobic or downright stupid AF. Who decided that "in order to play for the country a naturalized player needs to be a lot better than his competition" was a rule? Cause it's a stupid one. That being said not sure we need him (dude was terrible his entire time con el Pachuca). Not sure we need Gio either.
We need neither. And they should absolutely perform better than their competition in the NT, because if they don't and we give them a spot, it's essentially Liga MX protocol on the NT level (screwing over young prospects for foreigners).
Because it is ********ing logical? why the hell would you give a spot in the NT to an inferior player? Also who cares if he was shit in Pachuca, Oribe "sucked" for years before he found his mojo in Santos.
Nope you misunderstood. The argument is "he needs to be far superior to take the spot" and I've seen that thrown around BSMX. Sometimes it's also phrased "well he's better but not better enough to take a Mexicans spot". Hella stupid. They should just take the top players. If one or two happens to be naturalized so what.
