Judging by how they looked vs Juve, especially in the first half, this game could be the teams' biggest test this preseason. They, especially Neymar and Messi, pretty much played Juve out of the park. Will see how Jose decides to line up at the start of this one, but this game should tell us a lot about the teams' readiness. Herrera not being available for this one is going to be a real pity, because the midfield battle will be key and his workrate and fight there will be missed.
Herrera not available should give Pereira minutes. Fellaini should be rested. Pogba and Carrick with Pereira should start. Valencia at RB, Bailly Jones, and Mitchell at LB (I'd like to see that). Rash, Mkhi and Lukaku.
Was quite shocked to see him start on Saturday and will be equally as shocked if he plays Wednesday with that kind of money at stake for both player and club you would think he'd be on the sidelines.
My preference to start this game is close to full strength as possible for this one (to match how they probably will start) and I definitely would like to see AP starting for Herrera in this one as well.
Blind will get eatin' up on the left back. Darmian played almost 90 minutes I do not think he will go again. I'd like to see Mitchell matching up against a quick skillful player like Deulofeu/Messi whoever started there.
I first read your post and thought you said Jose. I immediately thought to myself, 'eye' gouge'? Then I reread and saw Jones and thought, well, isn't that a given?? True story.
I actually would be down for Mitchell starting this one at LB, if Darmian is not starting. This is really the type of game where he could shine in, since it's not expected to be the physical kind in the least.
One of you guys knows where the team is staying and training, but wont say anything until the team is long gone. I see how it is.
It wouldn't be the worst thing for us to lose a game in pre-season. We're due for a defeat and, it would seem, Barcelona are really up for it right now.
Yes, there is. By the way, what ever happened to that poster, whoever it was that unfamiliar with the use of the word "evisceration" in the context of sports?
Thanks. I saw the training photo's when they were already finished. I think they are training at fedex today.
