Gah, you know, subtle tweaks are nice and all, but sometimes the concept of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" really needs to be taken seriously.
Muahahaha! My Phantom Limb avatar is back! Was considering Nightwing or Sterling Archer but sticking with Phantom Limb, who now runs the Revenge Society!
so who all lives in seattle on here? i've made it through a couple of interview rounds and am being flown out there soon for a job. would love to get some feedback on the city and especially its soccer community, playing on teams and so forth. any help would be greatly appreciated. you can PM me or i can start a board to talk about it.
I don't live there but am there often for work. It seems it would be a great place to live in my opinion. A little damp, but I'm British so don't care about that and it creates a lot of greenery (very noticeable when you fly in). Due to its relative isolation it has a vibe that differs to every other city I've visited which I like (I haven't visited Portland yet, hope to get a Timbers game there sometime soon). It is one of the top two beer places in the US (not sure if you drink much beer, but judging by your avatar, I'd say you do and Rogue will offer far better stout than that Guinness gunk). Great outdoorsy type place, lots of trails, hikes, rivers, water, etc etc. Good job market with plenty of companies vying for good talent (should you every need a change). Excellent soccer community - they really support the Sounders hard as you know, big overseas team are attracted to play there and the natural PNW rivalry is fun and as close to Euro soccer as you're likely to find. I'm sure Pete et al can comment on the playing side, but people I know up there find pick up games easy to come by and a thriving local soccer playing community.
all great news, and very appreciated. beer and soccer, nice. doing research on where to try and live is hard from long distance. if anyone has any feedback on that as well. married with no kids, still want to be in the action as much as possible, though we do have two big dogs, so a yard would be nice.
There's a similar one about installing a German sense of humor but it corrupted before it could get to 0.1% so I wasn't quick enough to grab a screenshot
Wasnt sure where to put this so I put it here. Todays TEDTalk was about the Qatar World Cup and trying to deal with the heat/stadium design. Pretty interesting and hopefully they get done what they are outlining in the talk. http://www.ted.com/talks/wolfgang_kessling_how_to_air_condition_outdoor_spaces.html
so this is happening. Seattle bound! now i just need to find a rec team or some pickup i can play with.
