not possible, Karlsruher and Koln play in different regions. It was Stuttgart U19, Hoffmann didn't score in the win while Stuttgart were missing 2 key players.
Here's an update on Ian: In his last 3 games with the U19s (all victories), he's gone 90 minutes in each. He has been playing well but now he's being positioned on the wing which is very interesting. Took some time to get used to but now his performances are really starting to improve. I'll have highlights of 2 games. Just wanted to confirm that he was called up to the U18 camp in the Czech Republic but he was unable to attend. He's looking forward to his next call-up.
Ian was called up to play with the first team over the international break. They have a game at 1230 EST today I believe. Apparently, there’s a decent chance he could debut today most likely as a winger. This is huge news and hopefully he impresses.
And he's on: 63. I0:6I Wir wechseln erneut. Wiltz und Hofmann kommen für Choi und Kircher.#nurderksc #SVSKSC— Karlsruher SC (@KarlsruherSC) September 5, 2018
And now he has scored: 78. I0:8I Die zweite Halbzeit gehört der U19. Zunächst scheitert Stroh-Engel aus kurzer Distanz an Dürr. Ian #Hofmann ist aber zur Stelle und versenkt den Ball aus spitzem Winkel. #nurderksc #SVSKSC— Karlsruher SC (@KarlsruherSC) September 5, 2018
Ian played again with the first team. This time against the Mexican U21s. He turned 17 recently: 59.| 2:2| Anlass für die nächsten Wechsel: Batmaz, Hofmann und Subaric kommen für Pourié, Röser und Choi. Jugend forscht! #nurderksc #KSCMEX— Karlsruher SC (@KarlsruherSC) September 10, 2018
Mario Schragl (19-year-old goalkeeper), Tim Kircher (19-year-old defender), Mario Subaric (18-year-old defender), Luca Egolf (18-year-old midfielder), Stephan Mensah (18-year-old midfielder). Ian just turned 17 so he is clearly very highly rated. I'm trying to tell people, don't sleep on this kid, the debut is coming sooner than people expect.
started on the bench, came on the 75th, picked up a yellow in the 77th in a 3-2 loss to Malone's Augsburg U19. But his team can barely score non PKs, majority of their goals this season have been PKs.
Happy to have been voted for the top 11 in the U-18 German national championships. 👍 pic.twitter.com/EbwfyAxa1y— Ian Hoffmann (@ianhoffmann21) October 23, 2018
He picked up a slight knock so he hasn't been playing as much. Think he's back (or almost) to fitness.
Called in for a German U18 camp: https://www.dfb.de/fileadmin/_dfbdam/184830-kader_lg_duisburg_2810-30102018.pdf
he actually made numerous "on call" lists in the past. That camp is separate from the U18 who play a friendly next month. although I think he's likely to end up USA in the long run. And wouldn't be surprised if that's his preference too. besides whether Germany or USA as a 01, he doesn't have any relevant NT games until next season anyways. Given that it's a lot easier for a player to just play/train in the same country he's in instead of doing any traveling.
Ian started and went 90 as Karlsruher U19 traveled to Mainz U19 and won 1 - 2 in A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest
He was called up to the Karlsruher first-team for friendlies again this international break. First vs Hoffenheim tomorrow and another on Thursday. Unfortunately, he’s sick so he’s missing out. Good to see him being called up still.
after being absent last matchday, he started today but no idea why but he was taken out at the 46th minute. Whether form or fitness related.
he's one of the better German-American prospects, most of them if one is honest are average at best. Already looks to be the the most promosing one from the 01 age group.
Great new highlight video from @ShaftBrewer (and Twitter thread). Good stuff, man! Thanks for all your work. 1077293367841771520 is not a valid tweet id
